Hillary Clinton dodged a fatal blow to
her candidacy and goes on to fight the

next round.

After a bruising six week slugfest in
Pennsylvania.. the candidate who

compared herself to that underdog
Philadelphia fighter Rocky - emerged
from

the ring triumphant.

But Clinton was never a long shot
here.. the state's demographics favored

her.. and exit polls confirmed that.
she won the majority of support from

Democratic women, Catholics, gun
owners and white working class voters.
She

was also the favorite for voters who
made up their minds in the last week.

(Drew Levinson, Reporting)

BRIDGE: This victory gives Clinton a
shot of energy for the next round .

She'll use it to make her case that
she wins in the big states.

Still, the odds of winning the
nomination are stacked against Clinton.
Her

campaign is hemorrhaging money and
Barack Obama is sitting on a pile of
cash

and a virtually insurmountable lead in
the delegate count

Big spending and persistent stumping
helped him dampen Clinton's margin of

victory in Pennsylvania. He held his
key groups - blacks, college educated
and

new voters.

nats.. .

With nine primaries to go.. many
Democrats are worried the more battered
their

candidates become the more it helps
the Republicans this fall. Drew

Tim Saunders: For the students on
this trip, this is a history lesson of
sorts. The adults say what they're
learning here, is something they could
never learn in the classroom.

Duval Hughes says he never
realized how many soldiers sacrificed
their lives for him to be here.

Thomas Gorrigues (gor-e-guess)
says the depiction of D-Day is helping
him understand how hard it was for
young soldiers.

"We always learn something more
after seeing things. It's more lively
and more realistic."

Standing under the overlord arch,
Dugue is moved to song.

The song is called "my Normandy."

A reminder that this is their

memorial too.

Hokies vs Highlanders It sure wasn't ideal conditions
on campus at Tech but some fans bundled
up and covered up for the game bravely

They would watch the Hokies take
the lead in the Bottom of the second
thanks to the bat of Senior Matt
Hacker. He takes one to the opposite
field, Klint Reed will come into score
from second and give Tech a 1 to
nothing lead.

The Highlanders would get on the
board in the Top of the 4th. Nick
Minter with a great piece of 2-strike
hitting, just trying to get the runner
over, does better than that as Reggie
Keen, who led off with a double, will
score to tie the game up.

Ben Toth would un-tie the game
later in the inning as he gives one a

the way to the wall. *CG final Radford 2 runs would come into score and 4 Radford had a lead. They couldn't hold Virginia Tech it though, Hokies comeback to get a 5 5 to 4 win.

One of the many perks of winning
the National Club Pro Championship last
June is that it gave Chip six passes -
if you will - to PGA events of his
choosing. Charlotte will be his fourth
stop.

CHIP SULLIVAN

Chip is one of the longest
drivers on the tour when he's playing,
but in Charlotte he may have to
sacrifice some distance for accuracy.

CHIP SULLIVAN

Speaking of Tiger, the defending
champ will not be back next week to
defend his title in Charlotte. Just
after the Masters, Tiger had another
procedure done in his left knee. That
makes three surgeries on that same knee
since 1994.

His absence won't affect the

complete sellout - and includes a
number of Chip fans who are heading
south.
