Authorities say a 20-year-old
woman was shot by two men.

Bath County.


Authorities believe yesterday's
ordeal started with a family dispute.


It happened yesterday at
Scotchtown Farm just south of


Williamsville.

The sheriff believes Donald Rice
set the house on fire and then
barricaded himself inside the gazebo
with several high powered guns.


Around 7:30 last night, a State
Police assault vehicle approached the
gazebo and found Rice dead inside from
a self inflicted wound.


Family and nearby residents tell
us Rice was bipolar and had problems
for years.


We had a chance to talk to Don
Rice's wife before his suicide.


She tells us Rice had been
suicidal for some time.

220 North, near Fincastle, took the
life of a Botetourt County woman.


State Police say just before 10


o'clock, Joyce Milliner Millner ran off
the the road in her T-top Camero - hit
a fence, a tree, and a guard rail -
then went airborne before hitting
another tree.


The 43 year-old died at the
scene.


There were no passangers in the
car and Police say Milliner was NOT
wearing a seatbelt.

27 people from St. Lo, France are
visiting sites all over Western
Virginia this week.


Yesterday, they made a stop at
the D-Day memorial to learn about the
military campaign that turned the tide
of World War Two, and liberated France.


D-Day veteran Bob Slaughter
talked with the group and explained the
significance of the Allied invasion.


St. Lo is located just a few
miles from Normandy, where American
forces landed on D-Day.

developing this morning. Use caution
during your commute. An area of high
pressure will replace the departing


storm Wednesday through Friday. This
should bring decreasing shower chances
and partly sunny skies. The return of
sunshine will boost highs to the mid
70s both days. Saturday, a backdoor
cold front will stall out along the
VA/MD border. Showers and a few storms
may develop along the front, but should
not be that numerous. Highs stay put in
the 70s. We'll monitor this and keep
