campus last night.

Eric Thompson came to the school as
part of a campaign pushing for
concealed weapons on college campuses.

Only about fifty people showed up and
it was mainly a friendly crowd.

Eric Thompson spoke for about a half
hour and he told the crowd he was
shocked and saddened that Cho bought
one of the guns through his website.

Thompson says he came to Virginia
Tech to help people protect themselves,
and hopefully provide the tools to
prevent another tragedy.

for several suspects after the shooting
of a convenience store clerk.

That's located at the

Avenues.

Police say they are looking for

three men...one of the men was seen
carrying a handgun.

able to nod his head, and that he
thought he had been laying there for
about ten minutes.

The clerk was taken to Lynchburg

General Hospital, but we don't know his
condition.

Police were still on the scene
this morning, searching the area with
dogs.

University is growing to become one of
the largest flight schools in the
nation.

They plan to add more than 150
students for classes on engineering and
air traffic control.

Training for pilots and mechanics
will also see an increase.

The expansion will bring more
traffic to Lynchburg runways.

Liberty professors hope that will
turn the airport into a regional hub
for general aviation.

Jimmy Fund - which has been fighting
cancer in kids and adults in the Boston
area since 1948.

charged with first-degree murder in the
death of Precious Saunders.

Saunders was found stabbed to
death at her Audubon Drive apartment
Tuesday.

She leaves behind a two-year-old
son.

Jones was in the news earlier
this month for owning a pit-bull puppy
with its ears cut off.

He's being held at the Danville
City Jail.

A new study at the University of
Virginia suggests air pollution from
power plants and automobiles is
destroying the fragrance of flowers.

(STANDUP) Flowers produce volatile
scent molecules that bond with
pollutants such as ground-level ozone,
in the process it breaks down the
plants' sweet smell.

With more pollution in the air, the
scent molecules don't remain as

Tech shooter one of his guns spoke on
campus last night.

Eric Thompson came to the school as
part of a campaign pushing for
concealed weapons on college campuses.

it was mainly a friendly crowd.

Eric Thompson spoke for about a half
hour and he told the crowd he was
shocked and saddened that Cho bought
one of the guns through his website.

Thompson says he came to Virginia
Tech to help people protect themselves
and hopefully provide the tools to
prevent another tragedy.

of a convenience store clerk.

its aviation program to become one of
the largest flight schools in the
nation.

(END SOT) Lynchburg's Regional Airport, and

you'll see plenty of traffic coming in.

But the people behind Liberty
University's aviation program want to
see even more planes landing here.

Dave Young: "We see Lynchburg
airport and all the resources we have
available here as offering an
opportunity."

Young wants to use his program to
turn the airport into a regional hub
for everything from cargo planes to
recreational flights and air shows.

Ernie Rogers: "We're going to be
somewhat of a unique organization
within central Virginia that's going to
attract all of general aviation to come
here."

To do that, they're planning a

major expansion of Liberty's aviation
program.

Transforming it into a school of
aeronautics, and adding more than 150
students for programs that include
helicopter training and air traffic
control.

"That will all be an economic
boom, not only to the airport, but to
the vendors and the industry that
supports the airport."

The aviation industry's been on a
downturn the last few years, but here
at Liberty, they're expecting demand to
pick up for things like pilots and
mechanics. And that's why they're
trying to get more students in the
cockpit.

"There are a lot of opportunities
for graduates of those programs to go
out into the workforce and so we see us
being able to meet that demand."

And once those extra planes start
landing in Lynchburg.

"We'll have people in town who
are going to go to restaurants, stay in
hotels, that will help in the general
economy of Lynchburg." and help local
business take off.

Divers have recovered the body of a
man from Franklin County who drowned at

Smith Mountain Lake.

Authorities say 71- year- old
James Hankla, of Union Hall drowned
Wednesday night.

The Franklin County Sheriff's
Office is still investigating.

An online gun dealer who sold the
Virginia Tech shooter one of his guns

several suspects after a convenience
store clerk was shot last night.
