in jail.....all connected to a
"convenience" store robbery and
shooting in Lynchburg.

And FIVE of the suspects are

with aggravated "malicious" wounding...
robbery... and two counts of using a
firearm in the commission of a felony.

in North Carolina...leads to an arrest
in Virginia.

Police arrested a North Carolina
couple... wanted for KILLING a Meals on
Wheels volunteer. Police successfully
negotiated the couple's surrender
Friday morning after a FIVE-HOUR
standoff.

The incident started Thursday
night in Winston-Salem... when 77-year
old Anne Magness... was killed as she
made a lunch time delivery.

A 64-year old man who was the
"delivery recipient" was also killed.

As authorities negotiated with
the couple... SWAT officers discovered
the couple had their... ONE-MONTH OLD
baby in the car.

The baby was not harmed.

Norfolk Southern is planning to
build it in the Elliston area of
Montgomery County.

The rail yard would be used to

landscape and an increase in traffic.

Most localities support the

"intermodal" facility.

State leaders say they have NOT
reached a FINAL decision yet.

Evening showers will taper off, leading

Saturday night. Lows in the low and mid
50s. Patchy fog is possible.

While Sunday starts dry, there will be
a chance of showers moving up from the
south during the afternoon. Highs are
forecast in the mid 70s. A good soaking
rain is expected Sunday night as a
stronger cold front approaches.

That front will do a number on our
temperatures! Highs Monday are slated
in the low to mid 60s. Showers are
likely Monday. By Monday night, most of
the rain exits with clearing skies.
Temperatures will cool to near 40.
Highs Tuesday (under partly sunny
skies) are expected in the 50s and low
60s. Tuesday night lows will tank to
the 30s. Patchy frost will possible
Tuesday night - unless we're fortunate
enough to see some clouds, which would
help keep temperatures higher
overnight. We'll be watching....
