Marcious Antoine Cousins turned
himself into authorities last night

Police believe the 25-year-old is
responsible for killing Michael
Blanchard at the Super 8 Motel on
Candlers Mountain Road last Sunday.

Cousins has been charged with
first degree murder and several
firearms charges.

State Police say Roosevelt Chaney
veered off Ferrum Mountain Road Friday
night- just north of Ferrum College.

He was partially thrown from his
SUV after it flipped twice.

The cause of the crash is under

Police charged Collier with DWI

Roanoke Valley rode to Blacksburg
yesterday.

It was to raise money for the
victims who survived the April 16th
shootings.

Last year the group raised 4-
thousand dollars.

One organizer says -they will
ride like this on the last Saturday in
April every year.

is determined to stop a last minute
attempt by another group to demolish
Dan River's Long Mill.

The fate of the property will be
sealed Monday when a judge is expected
to rule whether it can be demolished.

The Danville Historical Society
has asked for an injunction against the
move.

Dan River Incorporated handed
over the deed to the property to the
group almost 10 years ago, but said
that no more than 25 percent of the
building could be destroyed.

The deed has since changed hands
and city officials condemned the
building last summer.

City officials would not comment
on the latest issue.

following an arrest for slapping man in
London last Wednesday.

Winehouse was questioned by
police on Friday and spent the night in
the police station.

She was eventually let off with a
caution and released yesterday morning.

Her spokesman says she apologized
for the incident and thanked the police
for their professional handling of the
matter.

For two days part of the Roanoke
Civic Center was turned into a dental
clinic.

This was the second Roanoke Valley
Mission of Mercy Project.

The need is so great for dental care
in our community...some people stood in
lines for hours in the early morning
just to reserve their spot.

The Food and Drug Administration is
taking a closer look at Lasik eye
surgery....after a public hearing
Friday..where federal officials heard
stories from patients about their
complaints with the procedure.

The problems ranged from pain to
blurred and double vision.

The FDA is determining whether

warnings about the eye surgery are
appropriate or if more may be needed.

The FDA is also preparing for a
major study to better understand who
has bad outcomes and why.

Jean West can't believe her eyes--
complete strangers putting in a hard
days' work to fix up her home.

23:12-16 I'VE BEEN A WIDOW FOR 21 YEARS

AND IT'S BEEN HARD FOR ME TO KEEP THE
PLACE UP.

These volunteers are one of several
groups around the country repairing
homes as part of the organization
Rebuilding Together-- the nation's
largest all-volunteer home rehab group.

Since its inception 20 years ago--more
than 100-thousand homes like Jean's
have been renovated.
