(APTN - soldiers pulled victims from
wreckage)

Human error is to blame for a deadly
train collision in China... That's what

officials say. The accident in eastern
Shandong province has killed dozens...

leaving Chinese soldiers scrambling to
cope with hundreds of injured

survivors... many in critical

condition.

(APTN STILLS - train flipped off track)

Two passenger trains collided on a
curved track in the early morning
hours,

causing one set of carriages to jump
the rails and slide down into a ditch.

(APTN SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) No Name
Given, Train Crash Survivor)

The train toppled over, says this
survivor. There was a crack on the
train

floor and we climbed out of it.

(APTN - Politicians visiting injured in
hospital) China's leaders have been

quick to blame the country's most
serious train crash in years on an

individual mistake...Local newspapers
report the railway network had

initiated a new train timetable just a
few hours before.

(APTN - Politicians at accident site)

Bringing the death toll even higher....
Railway officials estimate one of the

trains was traveling at 81 miles an

hour... far above the 50 mile an hour

speed limit.

(APTN -)

But even if the accident can be pinned
on one person... Many question whether

China's aging train network can
continue to keep up with the increasing

demands of a country that's on the
move.

Track 1: He's a controversial figure
who continues to cast a shadow over

barack obama's campaign.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright spoke at the
National Press Club in Washington this

morning about race.

(Sot from: Rev. Jeremiah Wright/Obama's
Former Pastor) "Maybe now as an honest

dialouge about race in this country
begins - a dialogue called for by Sen

Obama and which will begin in the
United Church of Christ among 5700

congregations."

Track 2: Barack obama's former pastor
has made several appearances the past

few days, breaking his silence about
the controversy that enveloped him- and

the Illinois senator- last month.

nats Wright

Track 3: Wright's recorded sermons
about race and the state of the country

created major issues for obama..

and now wright is back in an attempt to
reshape his reputation.

Wright: "If you think I'm going to let
you talk about my momma and her

religion tradition, and my Daddy and
his religious tradition and my grandma,

you've got another thing coming."

(Standup from Susan Roberts: Washington
D.C.) Obama's campaign says he will

not comment on Wright today.....because
the Senator has already said what's he

going to say on the matter. But Obama
has conceded that his former pastor's

speeches may cause him more political
problems.

Track 5: John McCain became part of the
dialogue after this ad was circulated

online by the North Carolina Republican
Party.

Track 6: McCain urged the party to pull
the ad. But he has also criticized

Wright, telling reporters yesterday

Mockingbird"

I read where your next book, coming
out next year is set alon the New
River...so this time, you actually used
Virginia as the setting...

As a teacher at New River Community
College, how do you find the time to
teach and write full time?

What sort of advice to you have for
your writing students or anyone who's
hoping to see their work published?

Thanks again for being here, Scott.

Last Season Virginia Tech defensive end Chris :00 Ellis was selected by the Buffalo Bills

in the 4th round after wowing coaches
at the combine, and at the Senior Bowl.

Defense was the theme as
Carlton Powell was selected by the

joining his college teammate Eddie
Royal.

Powell had 39 tackles as a senior.

And wideout Josh Morgan
heard his name in round number 6.

Morgan is headed to San Francisco,
following a season in which he led Tech
in receiving with 552 yards and five
TD's.

Just a few picks later
in the 6th round, Virginia tight end

kmcbroom@wdbj7.com There was a much different type of
draft on display at Talladega, where
the Cup cars went at it in the second
restrictor plate race of the season,
the Aaron's 499, which featured 51 lead
changes among 20 drivers.

Fox Sports It was a relatively quiet day :00 until the final 20 laps. With just 15
to go, Tony Stewart gets knocked around
like a pinball, smacking Dale
Earnhardt, Jr.

A huge pileup brought out just the
6th caution flag of the day.

Bobby Labonte, Martin Truex, Jr.,
and Kurt Busch were also involved.

With Kyle Busch leading and the

white flag out, the fur was flying
again on the final lap to bring out
another yellow.

The big wreck effectively ended the
race, and Busch took the checkered flag
for his second win of the season.
