Roanoke are feeling.

Administrators first made their
case for closing Forest Park.
They want to turn it into a
overage academy to help students who

says at least eight tornadoes struck
Virginia Monday.
Some Suffolk residents were
allowed back in their neighborhoods
today to assess the damage.

The shooting happened yesterday
afternoon around three o'clock in the

tracked him down.
Fleshman's neighbors were stunned

is now a convicted felon.

Mary Elizabeth Bowen (bow-in) guilty on
three counts of maiming related to a
D-U-I.
Last June, Bowen told police she
was trying to send a text message when
she ran her car onto the sidewalk
outside a Blacksburg bar.
At least 6 people were injured,
three of them seriously.
Bowen also pleaded guilty to the
D-U-I charge today.
She will be sentenced in August.

torch will be the only thing lit up at
the Olympics this year.
In an effort to keep the air
clean, China is trying to help its
citizens kick the smoking habit.
As of tomorrow, smoking will no
longer be allowed in most public
buildings in the chinese capital.
That's a big move for a country
with about 350 million smokers.

the NFL where popular former Hokie
PIerson Prioleau has a new home in the
league.

Super Bowl, signed the free agent
safety to give them defensive depth and
veteran leadership.
Prioleau who is entering his 10th
season in the NFL, spent the last three
years with the Redskins. He played 15
games in 2007, starting four and
finishing with 38 tackles.
Prioleau, who lives in Radford in
the offseason - and just this past
weekend took part in a charity event -
has played in 113 NFL games with San
Francisco, Buffalo and Washington. He
will be reunited with former Redskins
and current Jaguars defensive
coordinator Gregg Williams.

He has 20 of them on his ranch.
Weighing in at over a thousand
pounds, the animal just hung around the
office all day.

Now for a big fuss over a much
smaller animal.
A ferret named Snowball was found
in New Mexico earlier this month.
Since then, six families have
tried to claim her and 42 others have
tried to adopt her.
No one's provided documentation
of ownership, so animal control doesn't
want to give her to the wrong family.
To make things fair, the ferret
went to a zoo.
