LeVita Washington may be at the PH

she's also here for another reason.

((NATS OF LEVITA PASSING OUT FLIERS))

She's fighting to keep Forest Park

PASSIONATE ABOUT IT.

RUNS02 (END SOT)

OQ=PASSIONATE ABOUT IT So much so, she along with about 100

parents showed up at this public

hearing to make their case to the
school board.

They believe closing Forest Park
would hurt the community and more
importantly the three hundred students
who go there.

INQ=I've gone through SADIE POWELL/PARENT: I'VE GONE THROUGH

SO MANY EMOTIONS HERE TODAY. I'VE BEEN

Forest Park does close the students
would transfer to schools that are not
accredited or just barely.

OQ=IS NOT FAIR But the school system says Forest

Park is the best location for an
overage academy.

Administrators say it's needed since
Roanoke's graduation rate is only about

57-percent.

However, some school board members
realize closing Forest Park is not an
easy decision.

AND I'M A FATHER OF THREE SCHOOL AGE

THAT.

keep Forest Park open and they're
prepared to fight to the bitter end.

indicating a cold front pushing across
Virginia late Saturday into Sunday.
This may mean showers and a chance of

an event that will make us soggy all
weekend. The current thinking is that
Saturday will start dry, and likely
stay that way until sometime in the mid

showers will come to an end. If there's
a stray shower early Sunday, it will
leave, making way for increasing
sunshine for the rest of the day.
Temperatures won't be sharply affected
