primaries in Indiana and North Carolina
are now history....and the candidates
are moving on to West Virginia.

There were no big surprises.

As expected, Barack Obama won big in
North Carolina and Hillary Clinton won
in Indiana-- but by a razor thin margin

that WASN'T expected.

So where does that leave Clinton's
campaign?

Hillary Clinton's got a major decision
to make.

She needed a big night...and didn't get
it. After a landslide loss in North

Carolina, she barely squeezed out a
victory in Indiana. Technically the
night

was a split decision, but the momentum
is all Barack Obama's.

He may be in the driver's seat but
there are still roadblocks. Exit polls

show nearly half of voters were
influenced by the controversy over his

former

pastor, and attracting working-class
whites continues to be a problem.

But last night's results should dent -
if not doom - Clinton's argument that

she's more electable. Obama has
extended his lead in delegates AND the

popular vote. The pressure on the
former First Lady to step aside will be

heavier than ever.

(SOT CLINTON): "IT WOULD BE A LITTLE

STRANGE TO HAVE A NOMINEE CHOSEN BY 48

STATES."

Her campaign's life-line is to get
Florida and Michigan counted....Both
states

were stripped of their delegates for
holding their primaries early.

But even that might not be enough...At
this point, Clinton needs almost

80-percent of undeclared
super-delegates to go her way - and
that's a long

shot.

Roanoke Mayor.

Nelson Harris.

Bowers had 5,918 votes. Harris
had 4,491 votes.

fire in Salem.

night at 104 Richfield Avenue.

A man was home at the time of the
fire.

Authorities tell us he was taken
to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and is
being treated for second and third
degree burns.

The cause of the fire is still
unknown.

a suspect in custody this morning after
a double shooting in Bland County.

Police say the suspect was caught
and airlifted to a Roanoke hospital,
but aren't saying why.

The shooting happened last night
in the Dismal Creek section of Route
606.

Both victims are still alive, but
there is no word on their conditions.

We'll have more information on
this as it becomes available.

head coach Bob Huggins agreed to a new
contract extension to stay on as the
Mountaineers' basketball coach.

if not doom - Clinton's argument that

she's more electable. Obama has
extended his lead in delegates AND the

popular vote. The pressure on the
former First Lady to step aside will be

heavier than ever.

STRANGE TO HAVE A NOMINEE CHOSEN BY 48

STATES."

Her campaign's life-line is to get
Florida and Michigan counted....Both
states

were stripped of their delegates for
holding their primaries early.

this point, Clinton needs almost

80-percent of undeclared

super-delegates to go her way - and
that's a long

shot.

victory in Indiana. Technically the

was a split decision, but the momentum
is all Barack Obama's.

He may be in the driver's seat but
there are still roadblocks. Exit polls

show nearly half of voters were
influenced by the controversy over his
former

pastor, and attracting working-class
whites continues to be a problem.

But last night's results should dent -
if not doom - Clinton's argument that

she's more electable. Obama has

extended his lead in delegates AND the

popular vote. The pressure on the
former First Lady to step aside will be

heavier than ever.

STRANGE TO HAVE A NOMINEE CHOSEN BY 48

STATES."

Her campaign's life-line is to get
Florida and Michigan counted....Both
states

were stripped of their delegates for
holding their primaries early.

But even that might not be enough...At
this point, Clinton needs almost

80-percent of undeclared
super-delegates to go her way - and
that's a long

shot.

a suspect in custody this morning after
a double shooting in Bland County.

Police say the suspect was caught
and airlifted to a Roanoke hospital,
but aren't saying why.

The shooting happened last night
in the Dismal Creek section off of

Both victims are still alive, but
there is no word on their conditions.

more than 25-hundred votes..

Newcomer Bill Jones came in
second with nearly 22-percent of the

vote.

He was followed by Lisa Garst who
was just 35-votes behind him.

This comes as the city of Salem
is experiencing a lot of change- the
city manager recently retired and the
mayor decided not to run again.
