GRAPHIC=Infant Deaths The Henry County Sheriff's
department is looking into the deaths
of two babies that happened yesterday
within an hour of each other.
We warn you the details are
disturbing.
The first case happened around 11
in the morning

on Fairystone Park Highway in
Bassett.
Someone found Chaston Craig,
headfirst in a bucket filled with what
investigators believe was human waste.
Authorities say the
five-month-old was sharing a room with
an elderly person, who had a difficult
time moving around.
The next death involved a
four-month-old in Ridgeway.
Family members told authorities
that they put the baby,

And about three hours later, found her
face down in a pile of clothes on the
floor.
Authorities are waiting on

County sent two people to the hospital.

It happened around 8 this morning
at the intersection of Routes 842 and
610, a few miles north of Halifax.
A bus headed to Halifax County
Middle and High schools hit a car
driven by Kim Logan of Nathalie
(Nath-uh-lee).
No students were injured.

also riding in the car, were treated
for minor injuries at Halifax Regional
Hospital.
The bus driver, 56-year-old
Yvonne Vaden, is charged with failure

GRAPHIC=Noon A high speed chase has landed a Salem
man in trouble with the law.

March 13 Spenser Duncan pled no contest to
driving on a suspended license and
reckless driving.
It was back in March, Duncan led
police on a chase that reached speeds
more than 120 miles per hout through
Salem, Roanoke County and Montgomery
County before he crashed his
motorcycle.
The judge gave Duncan a six month jail
sentence, a fine and suspended his
license for 30 days.
His lawyer appealed the decision, A
felony charge of eluding police was
waived, and sent to circuit court.
Duncan is still out on bond.

Today the International Red Cross
announced it estimates the death toll
there is between 68-thousand 833 and
127-thousand 990.

days after a massive earthquake
devastated central China.

With neighbors applauding every
move...a woman who was 8 months
pregnant was
pulled to safety this morning.

The fire chief called it a miracle.
But for thousands of others, there is
nothing to cheer about. The death toll
is around15,000...and tens of
thousands are still missing, injured or
homeless. many villages have been
virtually wiped out.

In Dujiangyan City...soldiers guard the
road leading to the epicenter...as
stunned residents wander the streets.

A lot of the stores have shut their
doors, so people are reducing to buying
whatever they can find for sale on the
street. There's also a long line for
drinking water.
The government is dealing with a
disaster zone roughly the size of
Maryland.
Many mountain roads have yet to be
cleared....forcing troops to hike to
the
hardest hit areas. Military helicopters
have started dropping supplies, but
storms are getting in the way.

the quake
hit. he was back on state run TV
today...seen visiting a hospital.

And no one knows better than CBS news
correspondent Kimberly Dozier just how
dangerous covering a war zone can be.

As you probably remember, Kimberly
was critically injured in a car bombing
in Baghdad on Memorial Day, 2006.
Two of her crew members were killed,
along with a U-S Army captain and and
Iraqi interpreter.
Afterward, Kimberly endured numerous
surgeries, and it's been a long road to
recovery.

everyone is that you made it through
such a horrible attack and lived to
tell about it...if you didn't believe
in miracles before, do you now?

I read where you were conscious the
entire time....what went through your
mind when you felt that blast?
Seeing the video from where you were
transported...and looking at the vivid
pictures in the book...it's just
amazing that you survived... Was there
ever a time when you thought, "I'm not
going to make it?"
What's been tougher...the physical or
emotional recovery?
It seems that your positive
attitude...despite the odds..is really
what pulled you through...is this book
your way of letting people know that
you've recovered?

Elmwood Park.
The organization's signature
festival is one of the city's largest
events of the year.

Monday Night In the second inning of the
:00 team's 6-to-nothing win in the series
opener - Nick Moresi was hit in the
left arm and hand area by this pitch
from the Keys' Brandon Erbe.
He tried to shake it off, stayed
in the game and later scored in the
inning.
But he sat out the rest of the game,
and according to General Manager John
Katz, x-rays show he has a hairline
fracture and will have to have further
evaluation.

king Barry Bonds.

The baseball star is charged in a new
indictment, with 14 felony counts of
lying in a federal drug investigation.
The ORIGINAL indictment lumped some of
the alleged lies together, and came up
with only five counts.
Bonds was indicted last November,
but a federal judge in San Francisco
ordered prosecutors to re-fashion the
charges to spell out individual counts.

was a valedictorian his senior year, so
he's certainly smart enough to know how
great the odds are for anyone playing
in the big leagues.
Grant Kittelson recently caught
up with Hagan in Hickory, North
Carolina where his dream of making it
to the top continues.

Pro Baseball Environment which is a
long way removed from his days in the

Chilli is six-foot-six and weighs more
than a ton.
He's a Friesian bullock, who's
expected to be named Britain's tallest
bovine in the Guinness Book of World
Records..
But Chilli didn't start off with
world-class stature...
In fact, he's lucky to be alive,
having been abandoned when he was a few
days old.
He and his twin sister, Jubilee, were
dumped at an animal sanctuary nine
years ago.
Only his twin--who's six feet at the
shoulder-- can look him straight in the
eye.
