State police say Shirley Overby
crossed the center line an struck an

Overby later died at the
hospital.


The other driver Christopher

weeks away and the U-S Coast Guard
Auxillary is ramping up efforts to make
sure boaters are safe this summer.

beginning of National Boat Safety Week.


At Claytor Lake State Park,
owners were able to get their boats
inspected and make sure they're
properly equipped with safety gear.


Rescue sticks were also available
for them to practice throwing at
targets in the water.


Even with all this though, Coast


Guard officials say the most important
thing anyone can do on the water is
wear a life jacket.

manhunt in Blacksburg.

The Sheriff's Office was aiming

View Mall this afternoon as shoppers
tried to make history and help a local
hospital set a new world record

They did it.


Carilion needed to take blood
pressure from two thousand 303 people
in 24 hours to achieve that new record.


The preliminary count, shows they
beat that old record by about 50
people.


The screenings weren't all about
the contest but mainly, to make sure
people catch and correct high blood
pressure also known as the silent
killer.

seizure at home.

their home in Louisiana...

sharing his lottery winnings wasn't
part of the deal.

appeared before a judge this week
demanding half of the jackpot earnings.


She said she first got suspicious
when her husband disappeared for a week
and congratulatory messages started

So, she googled his name and

won 19 million bucks...600 thousand
each before taxes.


Needless to say, this wife didn't
get the ending she'd hoped for...the
judge dismissed the case.

A longtime teacher and supporter
of junior golf programs, Prater has had
several students in the Robertson over
the years, including this weekend.


He's a lot closer to one
however--his 15 year old son Jack who

Plantation pro Chip Sullivan made the
cut in the Japanese PGA Championship.
Chip shot a 67 in round 3 and is just
one shot out of the top 10.


The Hokie golfers didn't fare as


well at the East Regional in
Chattanooga, finishing at 6 over par
for three rounds, 5 shots outside the
top 10 and failing to advance.

north of Charlotte. The no holds
barred, high speed dash for a million
bucks is high on unpredictability,
while drivers tempers usually run

will be a tough thing to pull off.

continued on the road to Foxboro and
the Final Four today in the national
quarterfinals against Maryland a team
that beat the Cavs back in March 13 to
7.

Ben Rubeor did his part. His first
tally of the day came late in the


second quarter as he found the bottom
corner of the net.


It was 6-4 Terps at the half, but
Danny Glading helped lead a comeback
with this goal on the spin o rama.


It was Rubeor who tied things up
late in the fourth quarter with another
ad lib. *CG final Maryland Rubeor then scored the game winner in 7 overtime as Virginia survived by a Virginia final score of 8 to 7 moving on to next 8 week's Final Four at Gillette Stadium.
