SENATOR KENNEDY WAVED TO THE CAMERAS
AS HE LEFT THE HOSPITAL IN BOSTON, AT
LEAST A DAY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
SURROUNDED BY FAMILY AND HIS TWO DOGS,
THE
SENATOR PUT A BRAVE FACE ON WHAT WILL
SOON BE A GRUELING BATTLE AGAINST BRAIN
CANCER. AND HE APPEARS TO BE FACING
THE CHALLENGE AS HE WOULD A TOUGH PIECE
OF LEGISLATION.
(sot Christopher Dodd/D-Conn.) This
idea that we're sort of engaging in a
funereal kind of process he's finding
somewhat amusing. He's a fighter, he'll
fight back..he knows what he's facing
here.
THE MALIGNANT TUMOR IS IN THE LEFT SIDE
OF THE BRAIN, IN AN AREA THAT CONTROLS
MOTOR FUNCTIONS AND LANGUAGE. DOCTORS
ARE LEANING TOWARD A TREATMENT
INVOLVING RADIATION AND CHEMOTHERAPY.
BUT THE KENNEDYS SAY THEY'RE LOOKING
FOR MULTIPLE OPINIONS...AND FAMILY
MEMBERS CAMPED AT THE HOSPITAL
OVERNIGHT
TO SORT THROUGH THE OPTIONS.
KENNEDY'S WIFE VICKI SENT AN EMAIL TO
FRIENDS...SAYING THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A
REAL CURVE BALL...BUT THAT THIS IS
ONLY THE FIRST INNING.
(Pauline Chiou/Boston:) Doctors had
been planning to hold the senator for
at
least another day...but say he
recovered remarkably well from the
biopsy...He
plans to rest at home in Cape Cod over
the holiday weekend.
THE 76-YEAR OLD SENATOR HAS NOT
EXPERIENCED ANY SEIZURES SINCE THE ONE
THAT
SENT HIM TO THE HOSPITAL OVER THE
WEEKEND. BUT HIS KIND OF TUMOR OFTEN
BRINGS
HEADACHES AND CAN SPREAD TO OTHER AREAS
OF THE BRAIN. EVEN AFTER TREATMENT,
THE ODDS ARE NOT GOOD.
(Dr. William Regine/University of MD
Medical Center) Half the patients pass
away around a year and it's rare that
patients are alive five years
FOR NOW, HIS WIFE SAYS HE'S LAUGHING
AND JOKING..EVEN PUSHING TO PARTICIPATE
IN A SAILING RACE FROM CAPE COD THIS
WEEKEND.

( SOT: HILLARY CLINTON / D -

TO CONTINUE
MAKING MY CASE UNTIL WE HAVE A NOMINEE

Clinton's huge win was due in large
part to a group that's been
consistently
in her corner -- white, working-class
voters.
Obama has struggled to appeal to that
group... And while they don't have as
much pull as they used to, the white
working class voters could still swing
battleground states in the general
election.
Florida is one of those states, and is
the focus for candidates today.
Obama needs to win over voters, after
not spending much time there ahead of
the state's disputed primary.
Clinton needs the primary to count.
She won Florida and Michigan -- but the
results were tossed out, because those
two states broke party rules by moving
up their primaries. If the Democrats
count those results -- it would put
Clinton ahead in the popular vote...
And give her a boost as she makes the
difficult argument that she's the best
choice to face John McCain this fall.

married without a lot of hoopla.

She quietly tied the knot with her
fiance, producer Cash Warren. The
wedding was Monday. Alba and Warren got
engaged in late December following her
announcement that they're expecting a
baby.
They met on the set of "The
Fantastic Four" when Warren was working
as a director's assistant. Their
wedding was so quiet that even her
brother, Josh Alba, apparently was
caught off-guard.
He found out about it when a magazine
called him with the news.

Of course, "Claud" isn't your average
batter....he's a talented bear at a
Hiroshima zoo in western Japan.
Claud, a male Asiatic black bear,
started twirling a branch about five
years ago..and has really perfected his
talent.
So yesterday, Claud received two
baseball bats from the local baseball
team.
The zoo's director said Claud's
performance will surely shake up the
team, and lead them on to victory.
But there's bad news for Leo, Claud
would be more likely to ROOT for the
CUBS than the Red Sox.
