<< Good evening, I'm chief
meteorologist Robin Reed in the
SkyTracker7 Forecast Center. Mostly
cloudy tonight with lows around 50.
Winds will be light. A weak disturbance
heading toward us may provide a light
shower or sprinkle into early Saturday.
A rumble of thunder is also possible.
Overall, any rain amounts will be
light. If you can tolerate a few
morning clouds Saturday, the holiday
weekend is looking sharp! As Friday
night's disturbance moves into the
Carolinas, drier air will punch in from
the north Saturday. Saturday's early
morning clouds will give way to
increasing sunshine. Highs are forecast
in the lower 70s. Saturday night looks
clear with high pressure in control.
Lows near 50. Sunday and Sunday night
call for clear skies. A return flow
around high pressure slipping to our
south and east will provide warmer
temperatures Sunday. Highs are slated
in the upper 70s. Lows Sunday night in
the mid 50s. Memorial Day Monday also
seems mostly sunny at this point. Highs
are expected in the low to mid 80s. A

cold front sagging into the region will
try to bring back the chance of showers
by next Tuesday and Wednesday. WEATHER
EXTRA: The UV Index will be VERY HIGH
this weekend. Unprotected skin can burn
quickly, so apply sunscreen (SPF 15 or
higher), seek shade, cover up, wear
sunglasses and a hat. For the latest
weather anytime, turn to our webpage at

mstevens@wdbj7.com The ACC Baseball tournament
continued tonight in Jacksonville as
the Virginia Cavaliers tried to knock

their second big boy of the week.

Wednesday the Cavs upset top
ranked North Carolina - tonight they
went after Florida State.

CHANNEL=A VO-NAT

*CG locator Jacksonville, FL

SPORTSOUTH Former Tunstall high star Jacob
Thompson was on the hill for the Cavs
and he pitched five strong innings,
giving up just five hits and striking
out six.

FSU only got to him a couple of
times as they scored one in the second
on this blast and another in the
fourth.

By the time Thompson left the
game he had the lead and some nice run
support with three in the third. First
Gregg Miclate gets the fly ball just
deep enough to center, and John Barr
will score on the sacrifice to tie the
game at one.

Still in the third, David Adams
will hit a sharp shot to first, it's
bobbled and Tyler Cannon scores from
third on the fielder's choice as UVA
takes a 2-to-1 lead.

The Cavs would then get another
sharply hit infield grounder that
turned out to be too hot to handle.
David Coleman scores to make it 3-to-1
UVA.

And speaking of Coleman - check
out the catch the week as he goes all
out in right field, *CG final Virginia makes the catch and then flips over the 5 fence.

Florida State UVA knocks off Florida State 5 to 3 3 and will play Wake Forest tomorrow
night at 8.

The Hokies got this far thanks to
winning their Regional last weekend in
Knoxville. And as dominating of a
Pitcher as Angela Tincher can be at
times, she still needs the offense to
come through as it did down in Tennesse
with a couple of game winning Home
Runs.

The Hokies would like to see that
Hot Hitting continue this weekend at
Michigan.
