Police say a student with a
weapon forced E-C Glass to lock down
for nearly an hour today.

or faculty were in danger.

This all started around 11:15
this morning
A school spokeswoman tells us an
assistant principal saw the student
with a knife and asked him to hand it
over, but the student took off running.
Students and teachers never left
their classrooms and the suspect was
caught within five minutes.
The school stayed on lockdown for
50 minutes and during that time, many
parents started lining up on Memorial
Avenue, waiting to see what was
happening.

The student who caused the
lockdown is now charged with possession
of a knife on school grounds and
obstruction of justice, both are
misdemeanors.
We're told the student is a
sophomore at Glass and, because he's a
minor, his name is not being released.

night. Four dollars for a gallon is
already the norm in at least five
states.

Information Service say prices jumped
more than 4 cents since yesterday.
The nationwide average for a gallon
of regular is nearly $3.88.
Still, Triple "A" estimates more than
31-and a-half million motorists are on
the road this Memorial Day weekend.

found tons of people already well on
their way.
Some heading to North Carolina by
car, others say they anticipated higher
fuel prices by the time the holiday
came around and made plans to take the
bus.
Over at the airport-- we found
passengers who also felt driving was
not the way to go and decided flying to
places like Florida would be cheaper
than driving, and more convenient.
But one woman we spoke with says
these are simply tough economic times
all around and no matter which way you
choose to travel-- it's going to be
costly.

spend 20 years in prison for keeping
her adopted son in a cage.

Brenda Sullivan pled guilty to
aggravated child abuse.
Her 17 year old son weighed just 49
pounds when child welfare workers found
him in 2005.
Two other children, 13-year-old twins
the Sullivan's adopted as infants, both
testified they were kept in similar
cages.
Sullivan's husband was also
arrested, but he died last year while
awaiting trial.
Her attorney said he didn't think
prison was the right option because
Sullivan does not pose a threat to
society. He said they would appeal.

are planning to appeal a ruling that
found they had no right to seize more
than 400 children from a polygamist
group's ranch.
The state can ask the high court to
block the ruling that said the state
failed to show the children were in any
immediate danger.
That would keep the children in state
custody until a ruling is made.

Radford out of the event this
afternoon. The second seeded Flames
defeated the Highlanders, 11-2 at Dan
Daniel Memorial Park to keep alive
their hopes of winning the
championship.
Liberty will play again tonight
at 7. Radford's season end with a
24-and-32 record.

The Dow fell nearly 146 points to

shepard is back home--
Turns out a woman found Trudy in a
parking lot in the dog's hometown in
Kentucky and took her to Texas.
Someone in Texas saw a picture of
Trudy on a website for lost dogs and
alerted the owners.
Trudy was flown home-- but her onwer
says it looks like Trudy had lost some
weight.
