Memorial Service held in the star city.

Colorado.

a shooting in the Northwest part of
town.

Last Night Shots were fired shortly before
10:30 last night in the 800 block of
Seventh Street.
Authorities say 29-year-old Jason
Bonds of Roanoke was shot and taken
Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment
No word on how he's doing this
evening.
The scene last night was tense.
Police tell us one person had to
peppered sprayed and put into a squad
car after threatening to shot another
person Police have not made any
arrests.

morning after losing control of his
motorcycle.

Hillsville Volunteer FD Dickie Edmonds was killed on
Route 100 around 10:30.
He lost control of his bike while
trying to pass a truck on the passenger
side.
The 40 year old was pronounced

A woman is dead following a one
car accident in Pittsylvania County
Friday night.
It happened a little after 11 on
route 6-38, about a half mile south of
route 641.
State Police say June Welch of
Hurt, Virginia ran off the side of the
road and overtuned.
The 40-year-old died at the
scene.

air.

smoke free area.

To go along with all of the
events this weekend...a five K run this
morning in downtown.
At the conclusion of the race
many of the participants took home
trophies.
Appalachian Power sponsored the
festival run and rep's point out a lot
of the people who took part were
elementary school students and married
couples.
One couple in fact celebrated
their 50th anniversary by running the
five miles.

take on Syracuse, a team that UVA beat
in overtime back in March, one of 4
overtime wins this season.

impounded the Haas Automation cars of
Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter because
of illegal rear wing mounts.
The longest race of the season
is tough enough without that sort of
headache. Starting in the daylight and
ending under the lights, it's a 600
mile marathon that is equally taxing on
