small chain reaction this afternoon on

State Police say a teen driver
didn't look properly before changing
lanes near the Orange Avenue exit.
The driver hit a car causing both
people to lose control.
Then, a third driver ended up
crashing into one of the cars.
Some people started driving the
wrong way on the highway entrance ramp
to get around the accident.
Two people were taken to the
hospital.
Their injuries aren't believed to
be life threatening.

Meanwhile, the Franklin Road
bridge also in Roanoke City is back
open after authorities shut it down
around midnight.
According to police dispatchers
something inside the bridge started
smoking.
The city engineer has since
checked it out and deemed it safe.

department is investigating a homicide.
They say Wilber West was shot to
death inside his home on Leewood Road
this morning in Lynch Station.
His friends got worried when he
didn't show up to church.
Police say they were the ones who
found the 69-year-old.
West's body will be sent to
Roanoke for an autopsy.

driver was robbed at gun point in
Lynchburg around 10 Saturday night.
The robbery took place on 29
hundred block of Forest Hills Court,
which is next door to the pizza shop.
The driver says three men wearing
black and red bandanas approached him
One of them held a gun on him and
stole his wallet.
Police are still searching for
the robbers.

huge hit.

NO SUPER! Roanoke launched a new webcam on top of
the Star.
It's appropiately called Star Cam
and since its installation, the webpage
has had more than 130-thousand hits.
In fact, people are viewing the
cam from all over the world.
The city received an e-mail from
a U-S serviceman stationed in Japan who
grew up here.
He was actually able to see his
father and sister wave to him from the
deck of the Star.

knew the challenge in front of them
this afternoon.
The Hokies in their first ever
Super Regional, needed to beat Michigan
twice to advance to the Women's College
World Series in Oklahoma City. A goal
that Tech had talked about all season
long.

Tournament down in Jacksonville

The Cavs taking on the Top Seed

The first 6 Miami Batters that
came to the plate reached base and
after only a half inning the "U" was up
4 to nothing on the Cavaliers, The
lead would eventually get to 7 to zip.
Then U-V-A would put up a crooked
number in the bottom of the 6th, The
Wahoos scored 4 times to cut the lead
down to just 3 runs with 3 innings to
play.
But they would get no closer and
Miami claims the A-C-C Baseball
*CG final Miami tournament title with an 8 to 4 win,

taking place this afternoon.
The Open Wheel Racing Folks
hoping that the recent merger of the
Champ Car Series with the I-R-L will
bring the Indy Cars back to the
forefront of the racing community.

first Indy 5-hundred title.
Under caution A.J. Foyt the 4th
coming out of his pits and from the
on-board camera you can see on the left
side of the cockpit, a Fire, that is
never good, safety personel coming to
put out the flames.
Danica was running 7th late in
the race when coming out of the pits,
she gets clipped on the Left Rear wheel
by Ryan Briscoe sending her into a spin
and ending her day, she was none to
happy with Mr. Briscoe.
Someone who is very happy is
Scott Dixon, he started on the pole and
led for most of the race including the
final 29 laps to claim his first ever
win at Indy and enjoy the Milk Scott.
