Lynchburg authorites on their toes this
morning.

Police say around three o' clock,
they were called to the scene of a
malicious wounding incident on Yorktown
Avenue.

They aren't releasing many
details, but say the injuries may have
resulted from a stabbing.

In another incident, crews were
called to an apartment fire on Country
Place Lane.

Officials say it started from
grease left on the stove.

The family was home at the time,
but everyone made it out safely with no
injuries.

State Police say a teen driver
didn't look properly before changing
lanes near the Orange Avenue exit
yesterday.

The driver hit a car causing both
people to lose control.

Then, a third driver ended up
crashing into one of the cars.

Some people started driving the
wrong way on the highway entrance ramp
to get around the accident.

Two people were taken to the
hospital.

Their injuries aren't believed to
be life threatening.

It begins at 11 AM.

Admission is free until noon.

Hundreds normally turn out for

this service.

kick off at three o'clock honoring
military, police, firefighters and
other emergency responders.

Radford will host it's 9th annual
Memorial Day service at Bisset Park at
11AM.

And then in Lynchburg -a Purple
Heart Memorial Dedication also at 11:00
at the top of Monument Terrace on Court
Street.

are investigating a robbery.

They say a Papa John's pizza
delivery driver was robbed at gun point
around 10 Saturday night.

The robbery took place on 29

which is next door to the pizza shop.

The driver says three men wearing
black and red bandanas approached him

One of them held a gun on him and
stole his wallet.

Police are still searching for
the robbers.

how often people fill up their gas
tanks, but it's affecting what type of
gas they use as well.

Some drivers who USED to fill up
with a higher gas grade are dropping
down from premium to regular.

the view from the Mill Mountain Star,
without actually being there- is a
huge hit.

Two weeks ago, the city of
Roanoke launched a new webcam on top of
the Star.

It's appropriately called "Star
Cam" and since its installation, the

webpage has had more than 130-thousand
hits.

In fact, people are viewing the
cam from all over the world.

The city received an e-mail from
a U-S serviceman stationed in Japan who
grew up here.

He was actually able to see his
father and sister wave to him from the
deck of the Star.

mid 80s. Most of the day will be dry,
with steadily increasing clouds during
the afternoon. Please note, we can't
rule out a passing shower or storm in
our western counties by mid to late
afternoon. Warm and muggy Monday night
with lows in the low to mid 60s. The
cloud deck will thicken with a chance
of showers after midnight. A cold front
sagging into the area will provide
showers and possible thunderstorms
Tuesday. Highs in the mid 80s. Rain
could be moderate to heavy Tuesday
night in some locations, with lows near
60.

Wednesday begins with showers and
clouds, however, as the front drops
into the Carolinas, expect increasing
sunshine during the afternoon. Cooler,
with highs in the low to mid 70s.

Thursday through Friday call for plenty
of sunshine and highs in the 70s.
