Center. A cold front will work through
tonight and early Wednesday, bringing
scattered showers and thunderstorms.
While not everyone will get wet, some
communities along and east of the Blue
Ridge Mountains may find brief
downpours and gusty winds with the

exit Wednesday morning, with areas and
fog sticking around as we start the
day. By the afternoon, sunshine will

Look for highs Wednesday near 70. A

region in a fairly dry pattern Thursday

warmer southwest winds will push highs

Ticker and we begin with some honors.
The Virginia High School League
announced this year's class of Hall of
Fame inductees this afternoon, and this
year's group includes 11 individuals.

Two of the three are former
athletes from far southwest Virginia -
former football great Thomas Jones and
former basketball and track star

Calivin Talford.

:00 They will be joined by former
Blacksburg high school head soccer
coach Shelley Blumenthal.

In 16 years as the man in charge
of the Bruins - Blumenthal's teams won
eight VHSL Group AA boys soccer
championships - four in the 90s and
four more after the turn of the
centiry.

The Bruins won the district title
every year he was their head coach, and
his overall record is a mind boggling
313 wins and just 20 losses.
Blumenthal retired as the Bruins' head
coach last season and currently works
at the Roanoke Valley Governor's School
and he is also a volunteer assistant
coach with the Roanoke College men's
soccer team.
