crash last night in Botetourt County
have been identified.

A fire truck and pick up truck
collided in a head on collision just
after six o'clock last night near
Kelleys Market in Gala.

State police say Lucas McCullogh
was driving the Eagle Rock Volunteer
fire department truck that crashed into
a pick-up truck driven by Russell
Meadows of Covington.

Meadow's passenger - Judi Clark
Martin of Clifton Forge, was also
killed in the crash.

Both of them were wearing their
seatbelts.

McCullogh was taken to the
hospital where he was treated and
released.

This car flipped over on Arnolds
Valley Road in Natural Bridge Station.

Police say they are still
investigating the accident because the
people involved left the scene.

murdered over the weekend appears to
have been shot in the head.

That's according to a
search warrant filed in the case.

The warrant also says
someone went through Wilber West's
pockets as well.

to death just inside his Leewood Road
home Sunday morning.

body.

They went looking for him when he

did not show up for Sunday services.

Friends say West never had an
enemy.

They remember him as a person who
kept to himself and helped others - and
they can't understand why anyone would
want him dead.

owner is set to be executed tonight,
unless the U.S. Supreme Court or
Governor Tim Kaine steps in.

Thirty-one-year-old Kevin Green
will be the first person executed in
Virginia since 2006.

He is scheduled to die by lethal
injection at 9 o-clock at Greensville
Correctional Center in Jarratt.

school closed at Noon today because of
a water main break on Salem Turnpike.

That's near the intersection of
Westwood Boulevard.

Officials say customers in the
three thousand to the 36 hundred block
will have little to no water pressure
until the break can be repaired.

They say it may be this afternoon
until full service is restored.

thousand people

downstream of an artificial lake that's
in danger of bursting after the deadly
earthquake.

Soldiers have been using heavy
equipment to dig a runoff channel.

A massive landslide created the lake
by blocking a river after China's
earthquake back on May 12th.

The latest death toll from that
earthquake has soared to above 67-
thousand.

professor who lost his wife in the
April 16th shootings....but he'll stay
on campus.

Jerzy Nowak, whose wife, Jocelyne
died in the shootings, will head a
peace center that's moving into the
building where most of the shootings
took place.

Nowak will step down as the head
of the horticulture departement and
become the center's director.

The peace center will be in a
second-floor classroom wing of Norris
Hall, and will focus on violence
prevention,

peace studies and global security.

private counseling session.
