Monday Night The investigation continues into
Monday night's crash that killed
Russell Meadows and Judi Martin.

State Police say a fire truck
driven by Lucas McCullogh crossed the
center line on 220 and hit a pickup
truck driven by Meadows.

McCullogh - who's with the Eagle
Rock Volunteer Fire Department- was
taken to the hospital where he was
treated and released.

it....John McCain and President Bush

sharing a quick goodbye after picking
up about 3-million-dollars at a closed

fundraiser.

It's the first time they've been seen
together in nearly three months. The

McCain campaign says ALL fundraisers
are private but it's no secret they're

trying to limit their exposure to the
unpopular President.

are few who can open Republican wallets

like the man in the oval office...It's
a tricky balancing act the President

himself alluded to when he endorsed
McCain back in March.

With just a handful of small contests
left - the big date on the Democratic

calendar's May 31st. That's when party
leaders try to figure out what to do

with those disputed Florida and
Michigan delegates.

Clinton won both states and wants their
delegates fully restored, an unlikely

scenario. But even if they were, it
wouldn't be enough to overcome Obama's

lead.

bridge in Roanoke that was closed to
traffic yesterday.

That while authorities
investigated smoke coming from the
pavement.

Fire trucks blocked Franklin Road
on both sides of the bridge that
crosses the railroad tracks near
Reserve Avenue.

A wisp of smoke was rising from a
joint in the pavement, and firefighters
suspected it was a small electrical
fire.

The bridge closed briefly over
the weekend following a similar report,
but firefighters now believe they have
found the source of the problem.

The bridge re-opened shortly
before ten o'clock last night.

a convenience store owner in 1998 has
been executed.

Governor Kaine declined to stop
the execution, moments after the U-S
Supreme Court also refused to
intervene.

Thirty-one-year-old Kevin Green
was the first person executed in

Virginia since 2006.

Green's execution was scheduled
to begin at 9 p.m., but was delayed for
about an hour when his attorneys asked
a federal judge for a temporary
restraining order.

That late appeal was turned down.

Green died by lethal injection at
10-05 last night at Greensville
Correctional Center in Jarratt.

It happened around 6:30 yesterday
evening on Route 24 near Lover's Lane.

State Police say a car driven by
a juvenile ran off the right side of
the road, hit an embankment and
overturned.

The three people in the car were
all taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital
with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with
reckless driving.

investigated smoke coming from the
pavement.

Yesterday evening, fire trucks
blocked Franklin Road on both sides of
the bridge that crosses the railroad
tracks near Reserve Avenue.

A wisp of smoke was rising from a
joint in the pavement, and firefighters
suspected it was a small electrical
fire.

The bridge closed briefly over

the weekend following a similar report,
but firefighters now believe they have
found the source of the problem.

The bridge re-opened shortly
before ten o'clock last night.

driving after an accident injured
three people in Bedford last night.

It happened on Route 24 near
Lover's Lane.

State Police say the juvenile's
vehicle ran off the right side of the
road, hit an embankment and overturned.

a convenience store owner in 1998 has
been executed.

Governor Kaine declined to stop
the execution, moments after the U-S
Supreme Court also refused to
intervene.

Thirty-one-year-old Kevin Green
was the first person executed in
Virginia since 2006.

Green's execution was scheduled
to begin at 9 p.m., but was delayed for
about an hour when his attorneys asked
a federal judge for a temporary
restraining order.

That late appeal was turned down.

Green died by lethal injection at
10-05 last night at Greensville
Correctional Center in Jarratt.
