(SOT: Alice Huffman/Democratic Party

Rules Committee)

18:43 "Please, respect and please
conduct yourself like proper men and

that we must compromise and the world
is not perfect."

(nat of vote)

The fate of Florida was first on the
docket. The vote to restore all of the

passed

unanimously.

(SOT: Alice Germond/Democratic Party

Rules Committee)

18:32:58 "We must respect all 50
states and that includes the 48 who
abided

by our rules."

Michigan seemed more elusive. But
after an extended lunch break and a
back

room deal, the party made a final
proposal...69 delegates for Clinton, 59
for

Barack Obama. Obama was not even on
the Michigan ballot, but that didn't
stop

a key Clinton supporter from calling
the decision a hijacking.

18:52:36 "I'm stunned that we have the
gall and the hutspa to substitute our

judgment for 600-thousand voters."

"The Clinton camp is upset about the
outcome and is making noise about
taking

it one step further."

They could appeal the matter to the

Democrats' credentials committee, which

could potentially drag the matter to
the party's convention in August...the

last thing Democratic Party leaders
want.

(SOT: Alice Huffman/Democratic Party

Rules Committee)

18:41:16 "If you can come here and you
can leave with unity. It's what this

party needs is unity."

And it needs it now. The resolutions
increased the number of delegates
needed

to clinch the nomination, but with
only 66 delegates to go and 3 primaries
in

the next few days, Obama is certainly
within striking distance. Susan

Gators got the force at home and then

the out at first to keep Tech off the
board.

Extra innings weren't kind
to the Hokies. Florida loaded the
bases for Mary Ratliff who smacked one
thru the hole at short. That would
score two runs, and that was the
difference. Tech couldn't *CG final Virginia Tech muster any offense in the bottom of 0 the inning as Florida ended Tech's Florida season 2-zip, along with the careers of 2 Tincher, Hoffman, and Caroline Stolle.
