ESPNU Brian O'Connor's team was in the :00 tournament for the 5th straight time
still looking for its first super
regional berth.

It was 2-zip Fullerton in the
third before the Titans Gary Brown
delivers this RBI double down the line
in left and the Titans were up by
three.

The lead grew to 4-nothing
before Virginia rallied to load the
bases in the 6th. But David Coleman
hits the grounder and Greg Miclat gets
called out on the force at 2nd. But
the ump ruled Coleman out as well
because Miclat interfered with the
fielder. The questionable call killed
the rally and in effect Virginia's
hopes. Brian O'Connor argued but to no
avail. *CG final Virginia

1 The Cavs did get a run right Cal-State Fullerton here on the Franco Valdez single to 4 right centerfield. That made it 4-1,

Virginia Eliminated from Tournament but Fullerton went on to win it by that
score ending Virginia's season.

Warthogs vs. Avalanche It was a sunsplashed day at the :00 ballpark on this first day of June.

The Avs trailed 3-nothing early
in the game, but Koby Clemens prevents
any further damage showing off his arm
and throwing out the runner trying to

steal 2nd.

But the Avs offense mustered
just 4 hits today off Warthogs starter
John Ely who went into the 8th inning,
striking out six Avalanche players.
Salem Manager Jim Pankovits was ejected
in the middle innings.

And Anderson Gomes added this *CG final Winston-Salem solo homer to deep left field off 4 Corey Bass in the 6th inning for the Salem visitors. Winston-Salem went on to win 3 it 4 to 3 over the Avalanche.

Fox Sports It didn't take long for the :00 Monster to rear its head. Just 17 laps
in, it was on as Elliott Sadler and

David Gilliland got together triggering
a huge mess. The wreck took out 6 of
the top 12 in points, including Dale
Earnhardt, Jr., Tony Stewart, Denny
Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer and
Kasey Kahne.

A little later, Michael
Waltrip taps Joe Nemechek and Nemechek
has a meet and greet with the fence to
bring out another yellow.

Carl Edwards led at the
halfway point but found himself chasing
Kyle Busch as the laps wound down.

Busch had just enough to
hold off the 99, taking the checkers
for the fourth time this season,
padding his lead in the points
standings.
