Roanoke hospital - Police say he was
shot by his ex-girlfriend in a grocery
store parking lot.

Roanoke City Police say Mark
Sable was shot three or four times
outside the store before running inside
the store for help.
Sable told a witness his
ex-girlfriend, Kelly Maxey shot him..

Last Night police went to Maxey's house on
Parkview Drive.
According to a search warrant-
police knocked on the door, and moments
later - she killed herself.

Destin had been living was searched a

free in city garages will eventually be
forced to start paying.

For one year after that, downtown
residents will receive one free parking

died.
The 79-year-old was a
contemporary of Chuck Berry, Fats
Domino and Elvis Presley.
The rhythm he laid down on tunes
like "Who Do You Love" and "Bo Diddley"
is now widely known as the "Bo Diddley"
beat.
Diddley continued to tour well
into 2007, but suffered a stroke that
May and a heart attack the following
August.
He was inducted into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame in 19-87.

pressure forced firefighters to get
reserves from lakes and ponds on the
property.
The blaze was contained to the
back lot, but burned for more than 12
hours.
Universal Studios is a theme park

studio, complete with streetscapes and
Soundstages.

hundreds of high school athletes around
the state the next few days.
The Virginia High school league's
state championship week has finally
arrived and for those teams lucky
enough to survive - it's now down to
elite eight in all spring sports.
The state quarterfinals take
place tomorrow all across the state
with the winners advancing to the
Spring Jubilee in Radford on Friday and
Saturday.

April 16th One of the more interesting
:00 quarterfinal matchups tomorrow will be
in Group Two baseball where the redhot
Alleghany Mountaineers host Hidden
Valley in Low Moor at 5.
This is a rematch of a game
played on April 16th on the Titans'
home field in Roanoke County in which
the Mounties won a shootout 13-to-10.
This has been a magical year for
Alleghany and head coach Gary Rice.
Earlier this year he picked up his
400th career win.
And this year's Mountaineers are
the winningest team in school history
with a 23-and-1 record. Along the way
they have captured the Blue Ridge
district title and the Region Three
crown.
The Titans will try to counter
all of that with pitcher Mikey O'Brien
on the mound. O'Brien is unbeaten this
season.

Police in Blacksburg say an S-U-V
crashed into a trailer and caught on
fire.
It happened around 10:30 tonight
in the 300 block of Merrimac Road.
The S-U-V hit several vehicles
before it hit the trailer.
There was someone inside the
home, but they were able to escape.
No one was injured.

They were planning to jump out of a
plane...just not under these
circumstances.
A group of skydivers, two of which had
never done it before went up in a plane
in Indiana...
During the ride, the plane made a loud
noise.....so the pilot got to an
altitude safe enough to skydive....and
all 14 skydivers calmly exited the
plane.
The pilot landed the plane and was able
to walk away just fine.
