plenty of severe weather to go around
in other parts of the country, as well.
Stormy weather has stretched from
Kansas and Indiana to Ohio.

posting flash flood warnings for parts
of Indiana, where as much as five
inches of rain fell in 24 hours.
Last night, two tornadoes hit just
south of Indianapolis.
One touched down in Edinburgh, where
a gas station was damaged.
Debris was sent flying, and a gas
pump was lifted into the air and
slammed into a car.

Authorities say four teenage boys
approached a woman last night on
Jefferson Street demanding money.
Three of them attacked her, took some

to 11- hundred more jobs.
It's removing 100 fuel- guzzling
airplanes from its fleet, and slashing
domestic capacity.
These latest cuts come on top of 500
previously- announced job reductions.

more than two billion dollars this
year.

We have an update on our top story
about the ammonia leak at Lynchburg's
Westover Dairy.
The leak has been sealed at this
time and the city is scaling back on
the number of Haz-mat crews working on
the problem.
Police are still asking people to
avoid the area around the dairy and
residents around the area are advised
to keep their windows close.
T.C. Miller Elementary School was
closed. Parents wanting to pick up
their children should go to E.C. Glass
High School.

new basketball coach after Bubba Smith
resigned to take the same position at
Sewanee, the University of the South in
Middle Tennessee.

VO-NAT Smith was the Tigers head coach
for five seasons, and served the
previous three years as an assistant to
former Sydney boss Tony Shaver.
He won two ODAC Championships
under his watch, and posted a record of
94 wins and 46 losses, appearing in two
NCAA Tournaments.

night the Detroit Pistons dropped the
hammer on their head coach.

A pgymy goat hopped aboard a transit
bus in Portland, Oregon Monday night,
after apparently running away from
home.
The bus driver had stopped to take a
break, and while the doors were open,
Poppy the goat strolled onto the bus.
The driver shut the doors and called
animal control.
Poppy's owner, meantime, posted a note
on Craigslist asking for help finding
the lost goat.
And yesterday, she and the animal were
reunited.
