Whether or not it was actually a
tornado that hit the area last
night...there were some scary moments
for those who saw it.

hit by last night's storms. We just
drove through one of harder hit areas
and a couple was outside clearing
debris from around their house.

Last Night The storm started around 7
o'clock last night bring heavy rain and
wind.


Mike Hess shot this video - about
30 second worth - of what appears to be
a funnel cloud.


Large trees were brought down, in
some cases taking powerlines with them.


Near Virginia Western Community
College, Linda Stephens' home on
Bluefield Avenue had a tree come down
on the roof.

another wave of storms riding along it.
This provides the best chance of
showers and storms during the
afternoon. Highs will gradually warm to
the mid and upper 80s to near 90

the north, with extremely warm and
muggy afternoon temperatures. Highs
will reach the low to mid 90s on
Thursday and Friday. A ridge of high

Last Night Authorities are still trying to
determine if, in fact, it was a tornado

Pete Stephens's home was damaged
by a neighbor's tree which fell on his
roof.


He said emergency workers quickly
got to the scene to lend a helping
hand.
