<< Good evening, I'm chief
meteorologist Robin Reed in the
SkyTracker7 Forecast Center. Record
highs were set in several hometown
Friday, as the hot weather takes aim at
the east. The large area of high
pressure responsible for the heat will
stay put through the 7-Day stretch.
When talking about heat waves, this is
the real deal. With added humidity it
will feel closer to 100-105 over the
weekend. Poor air quality will also be
an issue. Moderate air quality is
forecast for the greater Roanoke
Valley. This means concentration of
pollutants such as ozone and particles
may impact those with breathing
problems. Stay inside during the heat
of the day. With high pressure
overhead, there's very little organized

chance of storms until Tuesday, aside
from the isolated pop-up variety. For

James River vs. Essex The Knights semi-final battle at
Dedmon Center park got off to a less
than desirable start.

Essex has the bases loaded in the
bottom of the first and Delvin Hence
will hit a chopper to the left side of
the infield. The throw gets away and
two runs score to make it a
2-to-nothing game.

Essex would bat around in the
inning and put up 7 runs to start the
game as Cameron Williams hits a three
run bomb to left field. Eventually,
Essex would finish the first inning
with 7 runs and that was plenty to win
this one.

James River would try to come
back, but Oliver Suprenanaut hits a
line shot right to the third *CG final Essex baseman and then the runner at first is 13 doubled up.
