tomorrow night.

His execution was repeatedly delayed
because of questions concerning his
mental capacity.

Walton is scheduled to die by lethal

Greensville Correctional Center in
Jarratt.

forced more than 15-hundred from their

homes and officials warn many more

It's not water rising further East -
it's mercury. Hitting triple digits in

some places, the season's first heat
wave is scalding the east coast and

relief isn't likely till the middle of
the week.

But while the scorching temperatures
were expected, the floods were NOT.
The

storms came quick - even touching off a
swarm of tornadoes...While rivers can

rise in just minutes, authorities warn

responses from others in the area
opposed to it:

Bahr went to an apartment complex
Friday to check on a woman who said her

Officer Bahr was shot in the
head.

Fieldale Volunteer Rescue Squad. Even
though the mill had been closed for
several years-- Putting out the fire
also meant tearing down a piece of
Fieldale's history--once again

CHIEF BELIEVES ATLEAST 30 TO 40 PERCENT
OF THE CLOTHING THAT WAS STORED HERE IS
A TOTAL LOSS."

heart-related deaths spike in the
winter.

It's well-known the cold puts more
stress on the heart but new research
indicates 5 consecutive days of cold
weather boosts inflammation in the body
which in turn makes blood thicker and
increases its ability to clot.

Experts say this could push patients
already on the verge of a heart attack
over the edge.

Becoming overweight or even obese may
not be so bad for people battling
type-1 diabetes, the less common form
of the disease.

A new survey's found people who put on
weight over time were less likely to
die than others studied, and those
classified as underweight were at the
greatest risk for death.

Experts caution, however, that this is
NOT a license to eat without
consequence.

A few drinks a week may help ward off
arthritis.

2 studies found that moderate drinking
- up to 9 alcoholic beverages a week -
cut the risk of the condition by almost
50-percent.

Researchers also found smoking to be an
even bigger risk factor for arthritis
than previously thought.

Henry County kept firefighters busy
this weekend.

The Fieldale Volunteer Rescue
Squad was called to the Fieldcrest

Cannon building around 8-30 Saturday
night.

Because of the the mill's large
size, more than 100 firefighters from
neighboring counties were also
dispatched.

The majority of damage was done
to the boxes of clothes stored inside.

The building is now used as a
warehouse for a clothing distribution
company.

Longtime residents are hoping the
building can still be used in the
future.

Mid-Western residents fear the worst

From Iowa to Indiana, weekend flooding
forced more than 15-hundred from their

homes and officials warn many more
should be ready to run.

it's mercury. Hitting triple digits in

some places, the season's first heat
wave is scalding the east coast and

relief isn't likely till the middle of
the week.

Roanoke police are investigating a
stabbing off Melrose Avenue near the
intersection of 35th Street.

It happened around 11 o-clock last

night.

Police say at least one person
was taken to the hospital.

While answering a domestic
dispute call, a Fredericksburg police
officer was shot to death.

A gunfight broke out at an
apartment complex while Todd Bahr was
checking on a woman who said her
boyfriend was threatening her.

Bahr was shot in the head..the

Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma Research at
Duke University.

The groups played charity flag
football yesterday afternoon.

The cause hits home for Roanoke
firefighter Richard Lipes.

His former battalian chief was
diagnosed with cancer and was forced to
retire due to his illness.
