a shooting in Henry County this
morning.


It happened at around 1:30 on
Colony Trace Drive in the Villa Heights
area of Collinsville.


Investigators aren't releasing a
lot of information right now, but we
will continue to follow this story as

returns to Montgomery County for his
formal sentencing.

in March, Morva was found guilty on
three counts of capital murder. A jury
recommended the death penalty.


Morva killed hospital security
guard Derrick McFarland and Montgomery
County Sheriff's Deputy Corporal Eric
Sutphin in August 2006 after escaping
police custody at Montgomery Regional
Hospital.


Formal sentencing is set for 9:00
a.m. and several hours have been set
aside to hear from the victims' and
Morva's families.

The Roanoke County Sheriff's
Office is now looking into how he
killed himself under their watch.

One legislator wants to replace
the 17- and- a- half cent gas- tax with


a five- percent sales tax.


Governor Tim Kaine's plan calls
for increasing the sales- tax on
vehicle sales from three- percent to

registration fee by 10 dollars.


That money would be used for road
maintenance.


Going into today's session, the
only thing lawmakers agree on is that
there's no consensus.

after he drowned over the weekend.

Authorities say a group of
friends was jumping off a pedestrian
bridge that crosses the James River
between Big Island and Glasgow
yesterday.


One of the men dove into the
water and never came up.


Rescue crews from Big Island,
Moneta, and Smith Mountain Lake started
searching for him around at around
4:30.


They found his body about an hour
later with the help of this underwater
video camera.

funding.

About a dozen bills have been
filed.


One legislator wants to replace
the 17- and- a- half cent gas- tax with
a five- percent sales tax.


Governor Tim Kaine's plan calls
for increasing the sales- tax on
vehicle sales from three- percent to
four and upping the vehicle
registration fee by 10 dollars.


That money would be used for road
maintenance.


Going into today's session, the
only thing lawmakers agree on is that
there's no consensus.
