five are dead following an accident in
Wythe County.
It happened a little before 7:00
last night on Interstate 77 at mile
marker 45.
State Police say an SUV pulling a
30 foot camper was heading south went
the driver lost control, went across
the median struck a tractor trailer
head-on.
All of the victims were occupants
of the SUV.
Authorities have not yet released
the victims' identities.

crossed the center line on Route 40 and
hit a utility truck.
48-year-old Larry Austin of Rocky
Mount was driving that truck.
He's now in serious condition at

killer Reginald Killingsworth to 18
years in prison for attempted robbery
and use of a firearm.
Now they face the much more
difficult life and death decision, when
they settle on a sentence for the
murder of Zaid Almajali.

of Killingsworth's prior convictions-
-eight of them over the last 20 years.
Both sides presented family
members of the killer and his victim.
The jury returns today to hear

triple murder will not face the death
penalty.
This week - Maurice Prichett,
Jordon Stockton, 17-year-old Carl
Turner and another 17-year-old were
arrested in connection to a Monday
morning murder.

Monday with capital murder for the murders of
three men in the Ridgecrest Trailer
park in Collinsville.
That charge has now been
downgraded.
The Henry County Commonwealth's
Attorney says - none of the suspects is
eligible for the death penalty.
He says under state law, you have
to be the triggerman and OVER 18.

council spending supports the
allegations that lead to Alfred Dowe's

after a stabbing last night.
Police were dispatched to 15th
Street last night at around 10- 30.
There they found 58- year- old
Sylvester Anthony with several stab
wounds to his abdomen and chest.
Anthony had surgery, and was last
reported in stable condition at
Lynchburg General Hospital.
Police arrested 50- year- old Brenda
Joyce Poole..she's charged with
aggravated malicious wounding, and is
in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without

Armstrong sponsored the bill.

were cheered on, and specatators got a
good glimpse of the excitment ahead
this weekend.

One of the highlights last night
was for the littlest riders.
Dozens of kids participated in
this year's stick horse race.
Hundreds also showed up to watch
the "Open jumper stake".
Many of the riders come from
around the world but are impressed with
what the Roanoke Valley Horse Show has
to offer.
