*cg 20 One person is dead after a car
accident on 460 West in Blacksburg.

Police say around 5:00 this
morning, the driver of a car traveling
on North Main Street... ran off the
right side of the road.

The car then overturned in an
"embankment".

Police say speed was a factor.

The driver hasn't been
IDENTIFIED... and police say they are
cleaning up from the accident and
drivers should expect delays.

the person who crashed into a home last
night.

"Pasley" Avenues...around 9:30.

Apparently, this Lincoln Town Car
was coming down the hill and didn't
stop -- crashing into the side of this
garage.

The impact of the crash caused
bricks on the OTHER side to fall off.

The driver still hasn't been
found.

(END SOT) murder trial, the jury was supposed to

decide whether Reginald Killingsworth
would be sent to prison or die for his
crime. But Killingsworth decided his
own fate.

He pleaded guilty to all charges
related to robbing and killing Almajali

and robbing Robert Bryant the night
before.

HE ADMIITED HIS GUILT FINALLY, BECAUSE
CONSIDERATION FOR HIS MOTHER, HIS GIRL
FRIEND AND THEIR CHILD."

A sudden change that usually doesn't
happen this late in the trial.

The prosecution says initially they
were not going to agree, but then they
thought about the Bryant case.

BRYANT SUFFERED A MASSIVE STROKE, I WAS
CONCERNED ABOUT HIS ABILITY TO GO
FORWARD ON THAT CASE, SO IT WAS A GOOD
OPPORTUNITY TO RESOLVE ALL CASES."

Killingsworth faces two life sentences,
one without the possibility of parole
for murdering Almajali Plus another 26
consecutive years for his use of a
firearm.

Killingsworth's mother prayed he
wouldn't be put to death. Throughout
this whole ordeal, she's prayed for
both her son and the Almajali family.

I GRIEVED FOR THEM, I WAS ANGRY AT MY
SON, I ASKED GOD TO FORGIVE HIM, AND I
TOLD HIS FAMILY I'M VERY SORRY."

But the Almajali family says no matter
what the jury would have decided, it
wouldn't have made a difference.

THAT'S NOT GONNA CHANGE FOR US, WHATS
GONE FROM HIS FAMILY AND US, THAT'S
GONE, HE'S NOT GOING TO COME BACK."

Killingsworth will transfer to a state
penitentiary with no chance to appeal.

Condoleezza Rice says U.S. beef is SAFE
to eat... and today urged South Koreans
to accept their government's decision
to lift the ban on the products.

daily rallies on the streets of
Seoul... to voice their concerns about

possible health risks... such as mad
cow disease.

This morning protesters gathered
where Rice was meeting with officials.
They held up signs that read "Stop Rice
and Mad Cows".

US beef was banned from South
Korea for most of the past FOUR and a
half years...ever since the first case
of mad cow disease in the U-S was
discovered in late 2003.

ANCHOR=JOY Chinese government says a tropical

storm has killed at least NINE people.

Tropical Storm Feng-shen struck
on Wednesday with strong winds and
heavy rain.

Authorities say the storm has
destroyed more than 12-hundred homes,
and has damaged roads, CROPS AND power
lines.

The storm hit China this week...
after killing at least 540 people in
the Philippines last week.

ANCHOR=JOY getting any relief from the weather.

A severe storm swept through
Omaha, Nebraska yesterday afternoon
causing power outages and damage to
homes and buildings.

The same storm killed two people
in neighboring Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Officials say the storm was quick
moving and was in and out of Nebraska
in about 40 minutes.

A National Guard Blackhawk
helicopter... was scheduled to come

The car then overturned in an

the driver.

Apparently, this Lincoln Town Car

Last month.., Scott Johnston and
Sean Farmer told News 7 about a fellow
fisherman who befriended them... and
eventually shot them both several times
in the Jefferson National Forrest.

Police say the shooter was
Randall Lee Smith...- a convicted
murderer who killed two hikers in the
same area back in the 80s.

Smith was taken to the hospital
after crashing a truck... he stole from
Johnston and Farmer. He died while in

police custody.

Roanoke Valley.

That's right.

The Miss Roanoke Valley pageant
was postponed for 20-08.

This video came from last year's

New "directors" took over the
pageant last August -- which didn't

Financial problems have also been
a concern. The organizers admit at one
point.... the pageant was thousands of
dollars in debt.

In the fall.., the pageant will

rise.

The CDC reports that 24 million

Americans have diabetes - an increase
of more

than three million in just two years.

Most of the cases are type-2 diabetes -
which is linked to obesity, poor diet

and a lack of exercise.

Adults are serving up alcohol to
millions of American teenagers.

A new government survey finds 40
percent of this country's estimated 10
and a

half million underage drinkers get free
booze from an adult.

While the most common place for teen's
to drink is someone else's house - last

month an estimated 650-thousand
underage drinkers didn't have to look
any

further than mom or dad.

Scientists have singled out a gene that

may raise the risk of Alzheimer's.

Researchers say the gene appears to
hamper a brain cell's ability to take
in

calcium.. contributing to the most
common form of Alzhemier's.

The scientists believe finding a drug
that could reverse the gene's effect
may

be useful in fighting the disease.
