heating bills.
American of Martinsville
announced this afternoon that it will
lay off 400 of it's 703 full-time
workers at the Redd Level plant,
reducing its wood furniture work force.
The company's president says it
has to move more of its production
overseas.

store owner's gun that fired shots in a
drugstore.

Sanco's convenience store, and Corey
Ramsey struggled over the gun before it
went off...that according to police.
Officers say Kennedy was hit
first... he then shot and killed
Ramsey.
Kennedy tells News 7 he was hit
in the leg three times and went home
from the hospital last night.
Ramsey was pronounced dead at the
scene yesterday afternoon.
Kennedy's friend says even though
the store has been robbed in the past,
it was only recently that he bought a
gun for self defense.

the Virginia Tech Football team got
some unwanted news today conerning a
former Friday Football Extra Standout.

High School, has been lost for the
season.
Dillard, who had worked his way
up the depth chart to the number one
spot at the flanker position, tore his
right achilles tendon.
He will undergo surgery and then
go through 4 to 6 months of
rehabilitation. Dillard made a big
splash in the Annual Maroon and White
Spring Game. He had a 49 yard run on a
reverse as well as a 25 yard Touchdown
Catch.
Dillard was one of the many
inexperienced wide receivers who was
looking to replace 4 departed senior
pass catchers from last year's team.

were collected by National Geographic
Kids magazine.
Once laid heel-to-toe, the shoes
