woman in Salem was struck by it.

Salem.
A worker tells us another worker was
struck by lightning while walking
outside.
We are told she is going to be ok,
that her injuries are not considered
life threatening.

woman in Virginia Beach this weekend.

It happened in the city's
Sandbridge section.
Her name has not been released,
but police say she was from out of
state and was on vacation.

Arizona hit by a train in Roanoke over
the weekend.

Police say 21-year-old Tyler Jim
Shepherd was hurt when he attempted to
jump off a moving train near Shenandoah
Avenue and 10th Street.
It happened around four-
yesterday morning.
He was taken to the hospital with
severe injuries.
Two other men who were with
Shepherd are charged with trespassing.
The accident happened on Norfolk
Southern's property and railroad
officials are investigating.

warning about a Secret Shopper Scam in
central and southside Virginia.
A newspaper ad running in
Danville and Lynchburg says a company
called Temp 1 employment is filling
customer service positions.
Consumers who respond are told
they will be secret shoppers.They are
then asked to deposit a check from the
company and wire the money to a company
representative.
The BBB says these are not real
job offers, but a scheme to get money.
The BB says consumers should use
extreme caution.

County. from a trip, Duane Zook is looking at
(END SOT) the pictures he's taken.
"These are the temporary shelters
by the side of the road."
The photos show you this trip was
a mission - to save lives in a country,
devastated by one of the world's worst
natural disasters.
Duane Zook: "Often times, these
people are going back to villages where
there is nothing. One village had over
300 people and close to 250 had died."
Zook works for an organization
called Global Aid Network - he's
teaming up with Appomattox County's
Gleaning for the World to get water and
supplies from central Virginia to the
people hit hardest by the cyclone.
"If you look at just the amount
of food we've sent over, it basically
feeds five times the population of the
city of Lynchburg."
"They were just so grateful for
what we were doing."
How grateful? This woman offered
to give Zook one of her children as a
thank you.
"She had them, that's all she
had, she lost everything else and our
team assessed that, they provided her
with some infant formula and some food
and she was just coming back saying
thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Zook also spent time rebuilding
schools - this is a temporary classroom
students are using now.
He says it's just the beginning
of what needs to be done.
"There's still, even six weeks
later, a lot of devastation."
And he'll keep sending supplies
as long as the need is there.

level low pressure system over the Ohio
River Valley will slowly move over us.
This will provide a weak southwesterly
flow of wind into the area which will
keep us very warm and humid. Our moist

the area through Tuesday. There could
be a few strong to severe storms Monday

winning the Cy Young. In return for
the power pitcher, the Indians get four
young prospects in the Milwaukee

perfect for New York Yankees' star Alex
Rodriguez.
Yesterday he was named to his
12th all-star team, but today he was
hit with divorce papers.

His wife Cynthia Rodridguez filed
the papers claming Rodriguez is an
adulterer who has emotionally abandoned
her and their children.
The petition for dissolution of
the marriage was filed in the family
division of Miami-Dade County Circuit
Court today. The couple has a $12
million dollar home in the same area in
an upscale neighborhood in Coral
Gables. The New York tabloids have
recently linked A-Rod with Madonna, but
the papers make no mention of her.
Neither Alex nor his attorney - who
also represents Shaquille O'Neal - have
commented on the petition.

old in January, sees this as his one

Bobby Allison - who won the title at
the age of 45 back in 1983.
