But information on who did NOT.
A Colorado prosecutor says new D-N-A
testing has cleared Jon Benet's family
in her death.
Boulder County District Attorney
Mary Lacy says the tests point to an
"unexplained third party."
Jon Benet was just six years old
when her body was found in the family's
home on Christmas Day 1996.
Her parents, John and Patsy Ramsey,
were long said to be under an "umbrella
of suspicion."
Lacy apologized to the family today,
saying, "To the extent that this
office has added to the distress
suffered by the Ramsey family... I
offer my deepest apology."
Authorities still don't have a match
on who committed the crime.
Patsy Ramsey did not live to see
the charges cleared. She died of

Kaine's plan two weeks ago today

The minority party had cut a deal

that includes an increase in the gas
tax.
House Democrats, led by
Martinsville Delegate Ward Armstrong,
want to take the gas tax out and cut
the tax on food.
In exchange, they'd raise the
sales tax on automobiles and other

That bill is being debated right

The Iranian missiles shown on state

The candidates for President also
reacted to the missile tests. Barack
Obama sees them as proof that the U-S
needs new policies to force Iran into
giving up its nuclear ambitions.
BARACK OBAMA / D - PRESIDENTIAL
CANDIDATE: "WE JUST HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE
TO DO THAT OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS.
PARTLY BECAUSE WE'RE NOT ENGAGED IN
DIRECT DIPLOMACY."
But Republican John McCain argues --
it's time for stronger sanctions
against Iran.
JOHN MCCAIN / R - PRESIDENTIAL
CANDIDATE:- "THIS KIND OF THREATENING
OF THEIR NEIGHBORS, THIS KIND OF
CONTINUED ACTIVITY IS NOT WITHOUT
COST."
The testing was done near the Strait of
Hormuz. 40-percent of the world's oil

to shut down the Strait if it's
attacked. But a U-S military commander
says, American forces won't allow that

OQ=Tim Saunders, News 7, Amherst << Sounds of thunder and lightning
County. A man clings to life in the midst
(END SOT) of a storm.
The scene represents August 20th,
1969 - the night Hurricane Camille
dumped 30 inches of rain in just 6
hours, over Central Virginia.
Geoffrey Kershner/Play Director:
"This really came back into my memory
and was something growing up in this
area that I knew was a big part of
living here in the 1960's."
Geoffrey Kershner and Jason
Chimonides wrote the play as a way to
remember the storm and teach others
about the event.
Kershner: "We wanted to do a play
that was about the area, for the area."
Jason Chimonides/Playwright: "I
had no idea that it had done so much
damage in Nelson County, so far north
from where the eye of the hurricane
hit."
"My mama told me to let go of her
hand."
It's raw emotion as the audience
learns what it was like to survive the
storm.
The story is fictional, but it's
based on first hand accounts from
actual survivors.
Kershner: "We met with survivors
of the storm. We also met with folks
who were involved in the recovery
effort."
Chimonides: "We sort of combined
real people and added a little pixie
dust and imagination as well."
Part of the experience of the
play is the scenery. The crew spent
several weeks collecting items from
around the area to show the audience
what the aftermath of Camille was
really like.
Krista Franco/Scene Designer:
"Bringing pieces that people can
recognize, and bringing them into the
space as part of the memory, is
something that I really wanted to do."
Kershner hopes it'll offer a new
perspective of the storm.
"At the end, the play is really
about how human beings deal with loss
and great tragedy."
A tragedy that's still a big part
of our local history.

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. A cold front (or shall we say,
cool front) will approach the region
tonight and stall out over our area
Thursday. Numerous storms will develop
ahead of the front this evening.
Instability is great enough that the
storm prediction center has put our
region in a slight risk for severe
weather. This evening's threats
include: -DAMAGING WINDS: winds gusts
with storm may be greater than 58mph,
causing downed trees and powerlines.
-HEAVY DOWNPOURS: Heavy rain may be
enough to drive streams out of their
banks. In some areas, 1 to 2.5" per
hour could cause flash flooding. Much
like last night, storms will begin to
diminish late this evening as
temperatures fall. Look for another
muggy night with lows in the 60s.
Thursday, the front passes just south
of the area before stalling and then
falling apart. While storm coverage
should be minimal, it looks like more
clouds than sunshine for sure. Highs
will remain in the upper 80s. For

The eight-month old panda lost
his way and found himself on the face
of a cliff.
This area of China is home to
about two-hundred-seventy wild pandas.
Rescuers had to think outside the
box to get the little guy down safely.
They used a cloth to catch the
cub as he fell down the side of the
mountain.
The panda is now at a local zoo
under medical observation.
