For months, the Rose family was
left with questions about who may have
hit Omarion.

County. that killed Omarion Rose is a daily
(END SOT) nightmare for his stepdaughter Kaylie
Silby.
"Obviously, she's depressed.
She's withdrawn. She has a hard time
looking at her own son without breaking
down."
Murphy says Kaylie is still too
shaken to talk about the case, but he's
reaching out to the Rose family with an
apology from Kaylie herself.
"No one could ever fill the void
of a lost child and we understand that,
but our condolences and prayers are
going out to the family."
A lot has changed for Silby since
the morning of the accident. In court,
she says she used to drive up Seminole
drive all the time. Today, Murphy says
she never drives anywhere.
"She really doesn't go out in
public. She's really, like I said,
been withdrawn, and really stayed at
home."
Stayed at home, because he says
the public eye is too much.
Murphy says many judged Kaylie
before her case ever went to trial.
"People, for some reason, have it
in their mind that Kay is driving down
the road, running down toddlers, which
is obviously not the case. No one
would ever hit a child and knowingly
leave him on the side of the road."
He says Kaylie called State
Police just hours after the accident -
as soon as she realized her car may
have been the one that hit Rose.
"By 2:30, 3:00 that same
afternoon, her car was on the way to
Richmond to be tested."
Regardless of how it happened,
Murphy says Silby is living with
regret.
"Regardless of what people think,
she's not a cold blooded murderer."
"More than anything, she is sorry
the incident occurred. She is
definitely sorry for the loss of
Omarion."
And wants to put the accident
behind her.

Commonwealth's Attorney to discuss the
case involving a drug store owner who
shot and killed a would be robber.
Now, Corey Ramsey's family is
speaking out.

VO-NAT Last Tuesday, Ramsey entered the
Sanco Drug Store in southeast Roanoke
with the intent to rob it.
When it was all over, Ramsey was
dead and the store clerk was injured.
As News 7's Justin McLeod
discovered - Ramsey's family believes
the store owner went too far and should
be punished for it.

Looks like the best storm coverage will
be Wednesday afternoon and evening as
the cold front approaches. Some may be
strong to severe. Thursday, the front
passes through leading to another
afternoon of scattered storms. Highs
will reach the mid 80s. Drier northwest
winds will follow the cold front
passage Friday, providing a pleasant
end to the week and into the upcoming
weekend. Along with the temperatures,
dew points will also be low. The end
result? A mainly sunny and comfortable

measure tar and nicotine in cigarettes
as reliable.
The "Cambridge Filter Method" has
been used for more than 40 years--
during a time when many health
officials believed reducing the amount
of tar
could reduce a smoker's risk of lung
cancer.

favors by puffing so-called "light"
cigarettes.
That from the Federal Trade Commission
which announced it will no longer allow
tobacco companies to imply government
approval when they advertise cigarettes
as light, mild, or low-tar.

Since the 60s, smokers have been
tempted by claims that not all
cigarettes are
created equal.....and some are less
dangerous than others.
The claim's based on a mechanical test
the government's relied on since 1966
to measure tar and nicotine...But
after 42 years, they now call that test
worthless, saying they --QUOTE--

"Do not provide meaningful information
on the amounts of tar and nicotine
smokers receive from cigarettes."

Light cigarettes technically DO contain
less tar and nicotine, but when PEOPLE
smoke them instead of machines, they
tend to take longer and deeper draws to
get their fix.
The result: JUST as much tar, JUST as
much nicotine, JUST as much of a health
threat.

The government's decision does NOT mean
all those mild-light-luscious-low tar
products will go up in smoke - it just
means the tobacco companies have to
snuff out the F-T-C's stamp of approval
from their ads and packaging....to
erase any suggestion there's such a
thing as a "safer" cigarette.

Last Tuesday, when Ramsey

"Obviously, she's depressed.
She's withdrawn. She has a hard time
looking at her own son without breaking
down."
Murphy says Kaylie is still too
shaken to talk about the case, but he's
reaching out to the Rose family with an
apology from Kaylie herself.
"No one could ever fill the void
of a lost child and we understand that,
but our condolences and prayers are
going out to the family."
A lot has changed for Silby since
the morning of the accident. In court,
she says she used to drive up Seminole
drive all the time. Today, Murphy says
she never drives anywhere.
"She really doesn't go out in
public. She's really, like I said,
been withdrawn, and really stayed at
home."
Stayed at home, because he says
the public eye is too much.
Murphy says many judged Kaylie
before her case ever went to trial.
"People, for some reason, have it
in their mind that Kay is driving down
the road, running down toddlers, which
is obviously not the case. No one
would ever hit a child and knowingly
leave him on the side of the road."
He says Kaylie called State
Police just hours after the accident -
as soon as she realized her car may
have been the one that hit Rose.
"By 2:30, 3:00 that same
afternoon, her car was on the way to
Richmond to be tested."
Regardless of how it happened,
Murphy says Silby is living with
regret.
"Regardless of what people think,
she's not a cold blooded murderer."
"More than anything, she is sorry
the incident occurred. She is
definitely sorry for the loss of
Omarion."
And wants to put the accident
behind her.

Robery Kennedy pulled out a gun.

up shooting and killing Ramsey.

It was the most hated tax or fee-
increase the poll touched on...

opposed to that.

license and registration fees....
Increasing the sales tax on

In exchange they'll suggest doing

cutting the sales tax on food.
Republicans have said they can't
