car in Northwest Roanoke
Now police are trying to find the
gunman.

Authorities discovered the
vicitim on the 28-hundred block of
Salem Turnpike around five this
afternooon.
The car was parked and on the
side of the road.
Police haven't said whether the
victim was the driver or passenger but
he is at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
They do expect him to be fine.
Aurthorities say they're not sure
if others could have witnessed the
shooting.

still trying to identify the driver who
burned to death when his tanker truck
ran off the road last night on Route
220.

Last Night The fire was so intense it wasn't
completely out until this morning.
The crash happened around 10 PM
but it took authorities several hours
to find the driver.
They finally found him outside of
his semi.
His body burned so badly -
authorities don't know his name.

Chris Young might have been last person
to see the driver of the tanker alive.

Seconds later.. thick clouds of black
smoke and flames lit up Roanoke's
skyline..

IT WENT OFF 4 TIMES, THE FLAMES SHOT 12
STORIES HIGH."
The fireball from the explosion could
be seen from several spots around the
valley. Many stood outside for hours,
watching and taking pictures.
Others like Darron Taylor HEARD the
explosion before SEEING it.

SCREECHING AND THEN A HORN TO FOLLOW.

Young who was feet away from the crash
believes speed was a factor.

LOCKED HIS BRAKES AND WENT RIGHT,
THAT'S WHEN HE WENT OVER THE TURN."
Police are still figuring out what
caused the crash. Meantime, a crane was
back at the scene picking up what was
left of the rig.

man was killed after his motorcycle
crashed.
Police say Gary Kirshenbaum died
yesterday when he ran off the road and
hit several trees on Route 60.
He was wearing a helmet.

the driver of a car wasn't wearing his
seatbealt when he lost control and ran
off the road.
The victim, Roberto Celles-Juarez
died around 11:30 last night after he
crashed near Route 674.
He was 21.

nine American soldiers dead in what is
said to be the deadliest attack in the
region since June 2005.
The target was a remote U-S
outpost near the Pakistan border.
Militants fired machine guns and
grenade launchers from a mosque and
nearby homes.
Fifteen other troops were
wounded.
Also today a suicide bomber
targeted a police patrol killing 24
people.

past week in Iraq.
Army specialist William McMillan
the Third was killed Tuesday when a
roadside bomb hit his patrol.
McMillan enlisted in the Army and
was assigned as a medic.
He graduated with the Class of
2008.
McMillan was from Lexington,
Kentucky.

decision to impose a curfew.

The curfew started this weekend
last year when Valley View Mall shut
it's doors early to teen shoppers.
Specifically, on Friday and
Saturday night's, anyone under 18 has
to be with a parent or guardian after
six o' clock.
The mall's management says the
change was necessary to keep so many
teens from congregating without
supervision.

She gave birth to twins last
night in southern France.

her C-section to protect the babies..
Their names -- Knox and
Vivienne.
All are reportedly doing fine..
Jolie's been the hospital for the
last month and will leave in a few
days.
The twins will be joining their

Sunday night as a cool front slowly
crosses the area from west to east.
Patchy fog may develop. Lows are
forecast in the mid and upper 60s.
Monday begins with a mixture of
sunshine and clouds. We'll generally
see increasing sunshine after noon.
Much cooler Monday with highs only
around 80.
Monday night will be clear and pleasant
with lows near 60. Skies will be mostly
clear.
High pressure means mostly sunny skies
Tuesday though Friday with slowly
moderating temperatures. Enjoy
Tuesday's low humidity, because it will
become more muggy as the week
progresses.
Next weekend calls for highs around 90
with partly sunny skies. Right now,
there's only a slight chance of a few
showers next weekend.

The Avs might want to take
advantage of things this evening as
Potomac's lineup going to get a bit
tougher the final 2 games, more on that

Potomac's parent club the
Washington Nationals will be sending
down their starting 3rd baseman for a
re-hab assignment.

Zimmerman will play 2 games in Salem
for the Nationals.
Zimmerman has been on the
disabled list with a torn labrum in his

Championship concluded it's run at the
Botetourt Country Club this afternoon.
3 Champions were crowned. In the
Senior Division Al Looney took home the
title, 3 and 2 over Bill Proffitt.
In the Grand Masters Division Ned
Baber 3 and 2 over Gibby Wingfield.

The Amateur Division title came
down to the Defending Champion Michael
Wade who dispatched of Barry Wirt
Junior in the Sem-Finals earlier in the
morning 4 and 3.
He took on Scott Wise who
survived one up over Brian Langley in
the other Semi.
In the Finals Wise and Wade had a
45 minute rain delay to deal with, Wise
getting the better of the golf as he
wins the Match Play Championship, 3 and
2 over Wade.

3 man playoff and it became a game of
who wouldn't hit it in the water.
Brad Adamonis hit a wayward
drive, going for the green, his shot
will trickle into the water, taking him
out of contention for the title.

hook into the drink and he was done.
That is cause Kenny Perry hit the

continues to march on in the Nascar
Sprint Cup Series.
Busch won his 7th race of the Cup
Season last night at Chicagoland
Speedway and he did it with a little
drama.

when they restarted after a caution
with 2 laps to go. Busch who had been
out in front most of the day, quickly
got past the 2-time defending Sprint
Cup Champion and went on to victory
over his former teammate.
Busch has clearly won the

fans in the stands.

They found the three carat two
weeks ago at Tyson Corner.
Went to the store where it came -
it was on the inside of the ring.
From there, they looked up the
owners and returned it recently.
The good samaritan couple
