car in Northwest Roanoke

Now police are trying to find the
gunman.

Authorities discovered the victim
in the 28-hundred block of Salem
Turnpike around five yesterday
afternooon.

The car was parked on the side of
the road.

Police haven't said whether the
victim was the driver or passenger, but
he is at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

They do expect him to be fine.

Aurthorities say they're not sure
if others could have witnessed the
shooting.

when his tanker truck ran off the road
on Route 220.

Saturday Night The fire was so intense it wasn't
completely out until yesterday morning.

The crash happened Saturday
around 10 PM, but it took authorities
several hours to find the driver.

They finally found him outside of
his semi.

His body burned so badly -
authorities don't know his name.

Chris Young might have been last person
to see the driver of the tanker alive.

CHRIS YOUNG/HE WAS WEARING A RED
TRUCKER HAT AND HE WAVED AT ME WHEN I
DROVE BY, HE HAD HIS WINDOW ROLED
DOWN.."

Seconds later.. thick clouds of black
smoke and flames lit up Roanoke's
skyline..

WANITA SANSIL? "JUST A LOUD EXPLOSION,
IT WENT OFF 4 TIMES, THE FLAMES SHOT 12
STORIES HIGH."

The fireball from the explosion could
be seen from several spots around the
valley. Many stood outside for hours,
watching and taking pictures.

Others like Darron Taylor HEARD the
explosion before SEEING it.

DARRON/ I HEARD A BIG LOUD BREAKING
SCREECHING AND THEN A HORN TO FOLLOW.

DARRON/ "SOUNDS LIKE THE PERSON TRIED
TO STOP AND BLOW THE HORN, BUT I GUESS
NOTHING THEY COULD DO."

Young who was feet away from the crash
believes speed was a factor.

CHRIS"/I FIGURED HE COULDN'T GO TO THE
LEFT AND WAS GOING TO FAST, SO HE
LOCKED HIS BRAKES AND WENT RIGHT,
THAT'S WHEN HE WENT OVER THE TURN."

Police are still figuring out what
caused the crash. Meantime, a crane was
back at the scene picking up what was
left of the rig.

Flooding in California's Sequoia
National Forest has washed out roads,
and triggered a mudslide that damaged
about 50 homes.

Meanwhile, heavy rain caused hundreds
of cars on a Phoenix freeway to be
stuck in long lines of traffic.

Both directions of U-S 60 had to
be closed due to flooding.

The road was inundated with water
from a storm that rolled in yesterday
afternoon.

an attack on a U- S base in Afghanistan

that killed nine American troops and
injured 15.

Military officials say more than
100 militants attacked the base
yesterday from several sides.

They breached the outer walls of

Army specialist William McMillan
the Third was killed Tuesday when a
roadside bomb hit his patrol.

McMillan enlisted in the Army and
was assigned as a medic.

He graduated with the Class of
2008.

McMillan was from Lexington,
Kentucky.

County...police say the driver of a car
wasn't wearing his seatbealt when he
lost control and ran off the road.

The victim, Roberto Celles-Juarez
died around 11:30 Saturday night after
he crashed near Route 674.

was so badly burned-- they're having
trouble identifying him.

The crash happened Saturday night
around 10 o clock.

It happened along 220
north...before the Franklin Road exit.

Police say the rig flipped over
an embankment and exploded.

Dozens stood outside watching and
taking pictures.

One motorcyclist says he was
driving along side the tanker and saw
the explosion.

the person who shot a man while he was
sitting in a car.

vicitim on the 28-hundred block of
Salem Turnpike around five yesterday
afternooon.

The car was parked and on the
side of the road.

Police haven't said whether the
victim was the driver or passenger but
he is at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Aurthorities say they're not sure
if others could have witnessed the
shooting.

still crying foul over a local mall's
decision to impose a curfew.

Now police are trying to find the
gunman.

several hours to find the driver.

They finally found him outside of
his semi.

to see the driver of the tanker alive.

Seconds later.. thick clouds of black
smoke and flames lit up Roanoke's
skyline..

IT WENT OFF 4 TIMES, THE FLAMES SHOT 12
STORIES HIGH."

The fireball from the explosion could
be seen from several spots around the
valley. Many stood outside for hours,
watching and taking pictures.

Others like Darron Taylor HEARD the
explosion before SEEING it.

DARRON/ I HEARD A BIG LOUD BREAKING
SCREECHING AND THEN A HORN TO FOLLOW.

DARRON/ "SOUNDS LIKE THE PERSON TRIED
TO STOP AND BLOW THE HORN, BUT I GUESS
NOTHING THEY COULD DO."

Young who was feet away from the crash
believes speed was a factor.

LEFT AND WAS GOING TO FAST, SO HE
LOCKED HIS BRAKES AND WENT RIGHT,
THAT'S WHEN HE WENT OVER THE TURN."

Police are still figuring out what
caused the crash. Meantime, a crane was
back at the scene picking up what was
left of the rig.

Authorities in Franklin County are
reporting a fatal accident.

They say it happened Saturday night
near Route 674.

Police say the driver, 21- year- old
Roberto Celles- Juarez WASN'T wearing
his seatbelt.

Saturday Night We're still waiting to hear the name
of the driver who was killed when his
tanker blew up over the weekend.

The crash happened Saturday night
on Route 220 North.

Roanoke Police say the man's body

whomever shot a man who was sitting in
his car in Northwest Roanoke

still crying foul over a local mall's
decision to impose a curfew.

The curfew started this weekend
last year when Valley View Mall shut
it's doors early to teen shoppers.

Specifically, on Friday and
Saturday night's, anyone under 18 has
to be with a parent or guardian after
six o' clock.

The mall's management says the

teens from congregating without
supervision.
