popular vacation destination but not
this year because of the high gas
prices.

File Tape One report indicates hotel
occupancy rates in Myrtle Beach are
down more than 14-percent so far this
summer.

A survey conducted by the
region's chamber of commerce found that
81-percent say the high price of gas
would affect their summer vacation
plans.

that's definitely true.

As the time has grown, so has a
family's frustrations.

May 26th It was Memorial Day when Judi
Clark Martin and Rusty Meadows were
killed in a crash on route 220 near
Eagle Rock.

Investigators say Eagle Rock Fire
Department volunteer Lucas McCulloch
ma-culluck was responding to a call
when he crossed the center line and hit
the other vehicle head on.

As of today, no charges have been
filed in the case and Martin's family
calls the delay ridiculous.

the truck driver who died over the
weekend when his truck went up in
flames.

Saturday Night Roanoke police say the body was
burned badly-- so it will take a while
to make an identification.

Road crews worked through
the night to replace the guardrail the
driver crashed through.

They had to install 600 feet of
railing between the Elm and Franklin
exits on Route 220.

It cost 17 thousand dollars.

to keep the skate park open,
temporarily.

VO-NAT Town council voted tonight to

keep Gearhart Park open under the
provision that there's adult
supervision.

That is until September
21st...then they'll take the issue up
again.

Council was considering
closing or moving it because of
vandalism and graffiti.

Last night, skateboarders showed
up in large numbers pleading with
council to keep the park open.

Many agreed to help the town
better police the park by turning in
vandals..

the taser to arrest a woman accused of
stabbing a man.

TAKE WIMBUSH FS TAKE WIMBUSH FS

12017 44-year-old Patricia Wimbush is
charged with malicious wounding for
allegedly stabbing a man in the leg at
a home on Cardinal Place.

When Police arrived at the scene,
they say Wimbush was still waving a
knife.

They used a taser to subdue
Wimbush and take her into custody.

robberies that happened at Sentry food
mart in Lynchburg.

The store has been robbed twice
in the past two weeks.

The first buglary happened on
June 30th when two suspects stole beer.

The same thing happened two
nights ago.

who stabbed and beat a California man
in his home...

The move repeals a 1913 law.

far behind Mark Warner when it comes to
raising funds for the Senate race.

Gilmore trails Warner by a wide
margin in their race to succeed Senator
John Warner in November.

Today was the deadline for each
candidate to report his fundraising
totals.

Mark Warner has raised nearly 10
million dollars since he declared his
candidacy while Gilmore has raised just
over one million.

white collar workers, cut truck

GM's sales dropped 16 percent in

A three-year-old in Missouri told
his mom he was going for a ride.

She didn't realize what he meant
until he got the keys and rolled the
