Retail sales barely budged for

linked the murders when he heard a

far behind Mark Warner when it comes to
raising money.

Gilmore -- the state's 68th
governor, trails Mark Warner -- the
69th governor, by a wide margin in
their race to succeed Senator John
Warner in November.

Today was the deadline for each
senate candidate to report his
fundraising totals.

Mark Warner has raised nearly 10
million dollars since declaring his
candidacy while Gilmore has raised just

over one million.

<< Good evening, I'm meteorologist
Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. The biggest weather threat has
come from the high UV index as a result
of our bright sunny afternoons. High
pressure will continue to build east
out of the Mississippi Valley and park
overhead this week, allowing little
more than some fair-weather cloudiness.
With an easterly flow, moisture
content will slowly start to increase
as the week progresses, so it will feel
a bit more humid as the week goes on.
Afternoon highs should manage mid to
upper 80s each afternoon. We stay
partly to mostly sunny until Friday,
when models are hinting at a
retrograding low moving into the
Tennessee valley. This would offer the
chance for a shower or two through the
weekend. Not all models agree. Some
have the showers holding off until
Sunday. We'll monitor this and keep you
posted. Either way, the low would be
intercepted by a cold front late in the
weekend. The best chances for showers
appears to be Sunday and Monday.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear. Low: 60

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Light east
wind. High: 87 WEDESDAY NIGHT: Mostly
clear. Low: 61 THURSDAY: Partly sunny.

Nationals vs. Avalanche A beautiful night for baseball in :00 Salem Memorial as these fans soaked in
the sights.

The Avs haven't exactly been
tearing it up occupying the basement in
the Southern Division, but don't blame
Koby Clemens. He came in tonight
batting 263 and upped that average a

bit in the bottom of the second with
this double to right. But the Avs
stranded him.

Actually, the Nationals stranded
him with some nasty defense. Look at
second baseman Michael Martinez go more
than 10 feet out into the outfield to
snag this sharp grounder, turn and fire
a strike to first baseman Andrew Lefave
to end the inning.

And speaking of Lefave. He
opened the third inning with a bang
sending this solo shot right over the
right center field fence. *CG final Potomac Potomac beats Salem 7 to 0. The Avs 7 are off tomorrow night before opening Salem up a three game series at home with 0 Wilmington on Thursday.
