Its time to move out from 'another'
Iraqi province.

(MAP IN)

U-S and Polish troops handed over
Qadisiyah this morning. The region
south of

Baghdad is the tenth of 18 provinces
to return to Iraqi control.

(MAP OUT)

Last year -- Coalition troops launched
a major operation there to crack down

on violence. Since then, the province
has made big gains in security. And,

the U-S commander there says... The
local government is working well.

The new beginning for Qadisiyah comes
as the surge strategy draws to an end.

(NAT) -

The last of the additional 5-combat
brigades sent into Iraq last year --
has

pulled out. Now, commanders are
starting an extensive review of the
security

situation across the country. The
results will be a key factor for
General

David Petraeus, when he makes his next

recommendation about how and when more

U-S troops can come home.

(STANDUP BRIDGE: Susan Roberts / CBS
NEWS / THE WHITE HOUSE) - "the future
of

US involvement in Iraq also depends --
on who the next president is. The

candidates have sharp differences in
their plans -- for what comes next."

Republican John McCain says -- the war
is a conflict the U-S must win... And

he says the surge strategy has created
a situation in Iraq, where America's

enemies are on the run.

Democrat Barack Obama has backed away
from his criticism of the surge -- but,

he continues to call the Iraq war a
costly distraction from the real terror

threat and that it must come to an
end.

FORECASTS

<< Good afternoon, I'm meteorologist

Leo Hirsbrunner in the SkyTracker7
Forecast Center. High pressure will
continue to build east out of the
Mississippi Valley and park overhead
this week, allowing little more than
some fair-weather cloudiness. With an
easterly flow, moisture content will
slowly start to increase as the week
progresses, so it will feel a bit more
humid as the week goes on. Afternoon
highs should manage mid to upper 80s
each day. We stay partly to mostly
sunny until Friday, when models are
hinting at a retrograding low moving
into the Tennessee valley. This would
offer the chance for a shower or two
through the weekend. Not all models
agree. Some have the showers holding
off until Sunday. We'll monitor this
and keep you posted. Either way, the
low would be intercepted by a cold
front late in the weekend. The best
chances for showers appears to be
Sunday and Monday. WEDNESDAY: Mostly
sunny. Light east wind. High: 87
WEDESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Low: 61
THURSDAY: Partly sunny. A bit more
humid. High: 88 For weather anytime

and legends bid farewell in style to
Yankee Stadium last night.

The historic ballpark is closing at
the end of the season, and some of the
players who helped make the ballpark
famous gathered before the annual game
for a unprecedented and emotional
reunion.

Joel Brown takes us to the diamond.

"the greatest collection of baseball's
all-stars ever assembled on one field."

49 Hall of Famers...living legends...

gathered to say farewell to the House

that Ruth built.

Willie Mays....Hank Aaron....Ernie
Banks.....and a number of
Yankees....who

helped turned this field of dreams into
a baseball cathedral...where the

Yankees have won an unprecedented 26
World Series.

natz full....Yogi, Yogi, Yogi

But on this emotional night....it
wasn't a player who stole the show.

(natz full...(20:32:55)

"welcome the Boss, Mr... George
Steinbrenner"

The aging Yankees owner received a
thundering ovation and a warm welcome
from

his Yankees family as he delivered
baseballs for the first pitch. Since

acquiring the Yankees in 19-73 for ten
million dollars....the Boss has seen

his team win six World Series.

(natz)

When this year's All-Stars took the
field they stayed for almost five

hours.

It was the longest All-Star game in
history...stretching into the 15th
inning

and finally won 4-3 by the American
League.

The victory gives the A.L home field
advantage in the World Series. And

while many will disagree...plenty of
Yankee fans would love to see one more

World Championship captured on the
hallowed ground of Yankee Stadium.

Monday Zimmerman was the designated
hitter for the Nationals both nights,
and he finished with three hits in two
games.

He is re-habbing a torn labrum in
his left shoulder.

And after playing a final game in
Salem, he will head to Columbus, Ohio
to join the Nationals Triple "A"
affiliate.

Zimmerman is just one of a number
of Washington Players who have been on
the disabled list this season, but
that hasn't dampened the excitement he
has for the up and coming franchise.

Jones was drafted in 2004.

Last season he had a career-high

just eight months after suffering a
