20 new offices in the state today.

Organizers say the new openings

Chair says Obama's camp decided to open
a Blacksburg office because of the high
turnout in past elections.

eight inch water main ruptured around
seven o'clock on Hardy Road which meant

water for hours.

negotations are moving forward at the
Greenbrier resort in West Virginia.
Labor Unions representing workers
at the resort have given what they call
a comprehensive contract proposal -- to
management.
According to a spokesperson for
the Greenbrier, negotiations will
continue.
Healthcare is at the center of
the dispute, but wages and work
conditions are also being discussed..
The 200-year-old resort is
blaming lost business on the dispute.

alleged shooter but wouldn't elaborate

The suspect, a 35-year-old man,
took off from the scene in his truck
after yesterday's incident.

In North Carolina, friends and
family of a woman whose body was found
earlier this week gathered in a public
memorial service today to remember her.

Nancy Cooper's body was found in
Cary Monday night.
Her husband told police the last
time he saw her was when she left
their home a week ago to go jogging.

It took 10 seconds this morning
for an old building to forever
disappear from the Louisville skyline.
Demolition crews used 500 pounds
of explosives to reduce the nine-story
building to rubble.
Soon a 250 million dollar
multipurpose arena will open on the lot
with the University of Louisville's
basketball teams being the main
tenants.

track along the coast, so we'll miss
out on rain opportunities from him. Our
skies will be mainly clear Saturday
night with lows in the mid 60s. Some
locations near rivers could see patchy
fog develop by Sunday morning.
Look for abundant sunshine Sunday with
only a few passing clouds. Cristobal
will continue to cause heavy rain for
the North Carolina coast. High
temperatures around here are forecast

Colonial Downs, It was Gio Ponti
winning in a photo finish over Court
Vision. Garrett Gomez was on board as
the jockey. The win was worth a cool 3
quarter's of a millon dollars.

Salem Avalanche were wrapping up a week
long homestand at Salem Memorial.
The Avs looking to go into a day
off on Sunday on a winning note.

It will be packed to the rafters
this Thursday Night as the U-S-A
Olympic Softball Team comes to town to
take on a group of All-Stars coached by
Virginia Tech Head Coach Scot Thomas.

Tour.

across the pond has been less than
ideal. At least for most of those
taking part in the 3rd major of the
season. But a blast from the past
has found things quite to his liking at
Royal Birkdale.

final group. Norman and the rest of
the golfers dealing with sustained
winds of over 30 miles an hour during
the 3rd round.
Jim Furyk seemed to be poised to
be a contender, that is until he had a
horrible back 9. He would whiff on the
14th hole in the heavy rough. Furyk is
at 9 over for the tournament.
Padrig Harrington won the British
Open last year, looking to become only
the 5th golfer to win back to Back Open
Titles, he is 2 strokes off the lead at
4 over par.
Your leader is Greg Norman, he it
at 2 over par for the tournament. Was
this close to doing that one shot
better as his Eagle Putt on 17 is just
short. After 54 holes the 53 year old
Great White Shark is your leader.
