The Montgomery County Democratic
Chair says Obama's camp decided to open
a Blacksburg office because of the high
turnout in past elections.

eight inch water main ruptured around

Labor Unions representing workers
at the Greenbrier Resort have given
what they call a comprehensive contract
proposal -- to management.
Negotiations will continue
according to a spokesperson for the
Greenbrier.
The labor dispute centers on
health care but also covers wages and
work conditions.
The 200-year-old resort is
blaming lost business on the dispute.

dead after a shooting at a post office
right before the start of the weekend.

alleged shooter but wouldn't elaborate
on their relationship.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man,
took off from the scene in his truck

track along the coast, so we'll miss
out on rain opportunities from him. Our
skies will be mainly clear Saturday
night with lows in the mid 60s. Some
locations near rivers could see patchy
fog develop by Sunday morning.
Look for abundant sunshine Sunday with
only a few passing clouds. Cristobal
will continue to cause heavy rain for
the North Carolina coast. High
temperatures around here are forecast

Field in Salem, the best Softball
Players in the country will be on hand
as the U-S-A Olympic Softball Team
takes on a group of All-Stars in one of
the final stops on the Bound for
Beijing tour.

Preperations are on-going over at
the field as the infield turf was
removed this morning at Kiwanis. It
will going from being a grass infield
to what they call a Skint infield for
the game that is soldout.
The outfield grass will stay as
is for the game but there will be some
additions on-top of that outfield
grass.

be sweating it out with the rest of the
Pro Football, Royal doing so with the
Broncos and Morgan with the 49'ers.

break for an autograph signing at Pine
Spur Sports off Franklin Road.
Royal was a second round draft
pick this past year, while Morgan went
in the 6th round to San Francisco.
Both players participated in
OTA's following the draft, and are

17 straight weekends including the
Chase for the Championship.

taking the week off, they are racing
just outside of Saint Louis. Brad
