Blacksburg's rescue squad last month,
now authorities are trying to track him
down.
Officers say they don't
believe the man was trying to hurt
anyone on the squad and may not have
known how dangerous the device could
have been.
It appeared to be a homemade pipe
bomb.
This all happened back on
July 26th.
Investigators are asking
the man, or anyone knowing his
identity, to contact Blacksburg police.

people on a Christmas Tree farm in
Grayson County will face a grand jury.
They'll be deciding if his case
will go to trial.

with the capital murders of Ron and
Fred Hudler and John Miller back in
January.
Prosecution called 14 witnesses
yesterday during a lengthy preliminary
hearing.
Investigators talked about key
evidence they found at Hammer's
campsite.....his phone headset, he told
a worker he lost the day of the murders
and some of Hudler's things, including
a safe.
The victim's families describe
the day as tough.

transporting illegal immigrants up
Interstate 81 was sentenced in a
Roanoke federal court yesterday.
Pedro Antonio Mateo will spend 21
months in federal prison.
Several immigrants were
discovered by a Virginia State Police
trooper during a traffic stop in
Botetourt County back in April.
U-S District Judge Glen Conrad
added two years of supervised release
to Mateo's prison term.

soon, but this time next year Roanoke
City School system will recieved full
accreditation.
Superintendent Rita Bishop made
that prediction yesterday as she met

source of the e coli outbreak at a Boy
Scout camp in Rockbridge County.
The health department says a
batch of the camp's beef tested
positive for the bacteria.

The Goshen camp shutdown until
further notice over the weekend after
three more people turned up with e-coli
symptoms.
The ground beef in question has
either been eaten or thrown away.
But the investigation is ongoing.

Foul play is suspected in a fire
at a Ronaoke furniture store.
It happened last night just
before six o'clock at the Weekend Sofa
Outlet on Williamson Road.
No one was injured, though the
store was damaged along with some
neighboring buildings.
Investigators say the fire
started in a back storage room.
A five-thousand dollar reward is
being offered for information leading
to an arrest.

luck this weekend when he won a car.

brand new 1937 Ford Coupe.
The Roanoke man was at the annual
Street Rod Nationals in Louisville,
Kentucky this weekend when he entered a
raffle and won the car.
DeHart's friends tell News7 - two

but those people weren't there to
claim their prize.
But, the third try was a charm
for the hot rod enthusiast.
Friends and family were on-hand
as he debuted his new ride..

usually show up for the five day event
to showcase their love for country and
mountain music.
It always happens in early August
and hot temperatures usually come with
it.
We found plenty of people playing
in the shade or running a fan nearby.
The first day saw temperatures in
the 90's but surprisingly most people
told us they would rather deal with the
heat than rain.

of the current "heat wave" as highs
push the mid to upper 90s. Danville may
see a high near 99 degrees, which would
