Mountain Lake State Park

the park with the Sycamore Baptist
Church youth group.
The boy had been missing for
about 15 minutes before someone alerted
park officials.
After searching for half an hour,
they found him unconscious in the
water.
He was later pronounced dead at
Bedford Memorial Hospital.

arrive for Sunday services.
She says he took part in Sunday
School and could have grown up to

Most of all, Monihan says she'll
remember Strickland for his good
manners and positive attitude.

nearly closed its skate park after
numerous complaints of vandalism and
drug use.
Town leaders decided to keep the
park open, temporarily, but with some
conditions.

Blankenship pleaded guilty to a charge
of misdemeanor hit-and-run in Powhatan
County.
Blankenship was fined
200-dollars and ordered to pay
restitution.

July 23 We now know who was killed in a
Bedford car fire last month.
37-year-old Benita Donnella Woods
died July 23rd.
Police say she drove into a field
off Ole Turnpike Road.
When the engine hit dry grass,
the Chevy Malibu she was driving caught
fire.
Investigators are still waiting
for a toxicology report, but say Woods'
cause of death was smoke inhalation.
