at gun-point around 12-30 this morning.

Police say two men entered the
Hilltop Exxon on Piney Forest Road,
pulled out handguns and demanded money.

They also managed to grab a
carton of cigarettes before fleeing the
scene.

at Smith Mountain Lake.

There's no word yet on whether
the child is alive or dead.

someone reported a child missing around
2-30 yesterday.

Park officials closed the beach
and began searching for the child.

About 20 people including
lifeguards, Bedford County Sheriff's
deputies and volunteers were assisting
in the search.

Randall Lee Smith has been ruled
accidental.

May 9 Smith died in May while being :00 held at the New River Valley Jail.

He was accused of shooting two

people... near the Appalachian Trail in
the Jefferson National Forest.

He wrecked a stolen truck while
leaving the scene of the crime.

The medical examiner determined
Smith died as a result of complications
from injuries in that wreck.

Smith killed two hikers in the
same area in the 1980s.

Scott Johnston and Sean Farmer
survived the May shooting.

Now Johnston is on a mission to
learn more about Smith.

are going down in the Airline Industry,
but officials say Roanoke Regional will
weather the storm.

higher. Because of rising fuel prices,
Mike Boyd says the airlines have no
choice but to raise fares.

But he says a recent report that

outbreak at a Rockbridge County Boy
Scout camp.

11 of the 27 confirmed cases at the
Goshen Reservation are linked to a
recall of frozen hamburger products.

The beef came from: California-
based S-and-S Foods.

Meanwhile, the number of sick
children keeps going up.

Now 84 people have reported
symptoms.

Eight children were also
hospitalized.

The Virginia Department of Health
says it is still investigating, because
not all of the cases are related to the
recall.

stands at 700. Twelve years ago it was
less than 100.

When classes begin later this
month, students will find a lot going
on... on campus.

Workers are renovating the
student center and installing air
conditioning in the school's main
building.

This week workers finished up a
new dorm which will house more than 200
female students.

The school is also working on a
series of new athletic fields set to be

complete some time next year.

These days the school uses fields
in Buena Vista.

found in Roanoke's Old Southwest
Neighborhood. But there's still no word
on the cause of death.

of trees located beside the offices of
the Episcopal Diocese (DY-uh-sis) of
Southwestern Virginia.

Neighbors said they had seen two
homeless men living in the area.

waiting for the results of an autopsy.

The Nathaniel Evans home
originally belonged to the Mark Evans,
Roanoke's first settler.

The land records date back to the
17-hundreds.

A local historian believes the
home does, too.

Harold Cannaday runs an African
American sports hall of fame at the
Harrison Museum.

He wants to renovate the home
with grant money and then relocate the
hall of fame there.
