is looking into the death of an inmate.
Police arrested Ronald
ReevesThursday morning for being drunk
in public.
A few hours later deputies found
him unresponsive in a holding cell.
The medical examiner hasn't
determined the cause of death yet.
Both the sheriff's office and
Roanoke Police Department are
investigating.

assault.
Authorities say Adam Webb had
been living with the alleged victim for
about two weeks when he suposedly tried
to force himself on her this morning.
Authorities say Webb and the
woman met over the internet.
The 25-year-old suspect is in the
Montgomery County Jail on a five
thousand dollar bond.

historic Drum Tower in central Beijing.
Bachman was killed, his wife and a
Chinese tour guide were seriously
wounded.
The attacker, a 47 year old Chinese
native then leapt to his death. The
couple are the parents of former
Olympic volleyball player Elisabeth
Bachman
who was with them at the time of the
attack, and they are the in-laws of the
head coach of the U.S. men's indoor
volleyball team.

Center THIS EVENING With clear skies
and light winds, temperatures will once
again stay below average, with lows in
the 50s and patchy fog in the deeper
valleys. SUNDAY: As high pressure
moves east, a fairly strong disturbance
moves into the Great Lakes. This will
push a front through Sunday with
limited moisture. An isolated shower
can't be ruled out in the the western
mountains. Otherwise, another day of
sunshine and highs in the low 80s. NEXT
WEEK: Generally, the forecast remains
dry with limited rain chances and below
normal temperatures. Highs will remain
in the low 80s through Wednesday, then
climb into the upper 80s by Friday of
next week. As far as shower chances,
don't expect any soaking rain storms. A
spotty shower or two at best Wednesday
and Thursday. A few more showers may
also impact the region by next weekend.

- one runner went indoors to raise
money for cancer research.

Yep, Mike Arrington ran 20 miles
on a treadmill inside Belk at the
Valley View Mall.
It was a sweaty celebration of 20
years of the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society's Team in Training.
That's a group that raises money
for the cause through endurance sports.
Arrington is a coach for that
team and has also lost a close friend
to Leukemia.
He's completed six marathons for
the society.

in what they called "Stick it to
Leukemia and Lymphoma".
The Hokie Bird was also on hand
for the fundraiser.
The Team In Training has raised
900 million dollars for cancer research
since 19-88.
Leukemia and Lymphoma are cancers
of the blood.

Great, Joe Jacoby was in town this
afternoon.

Jacoby was signing autographs at
Pine Spur Sports in Roanoke. Jacoby
part of the legendary Redskin Offensive
Lines that was known as the Hogs.
Last week 2 of his former
teammates Art Monk and Darrell Green
went into the N-F-L Hall of Fame.
An experience shared by those in
attendance and even those that weren't
in Canton.

Season, the P-G-A Championship looks
like it will be decided with a survival
of the fittest.
Weather playing a big part in who
will lift the Trophy on Sunday, We Hope
on Sunday at least.

3rd round play got underway with
no problems, especially for Andres
Romero, had the round of the tournament
with a 65 on Saturday and was one of
the few golfers to finish.
Phil Mickelson trying to win his
second P-G-A Championship of his
career. He would drive the Par 4 6th
hole and left himself an 8 foot putt
for eagle.
But he will have to wait until
Sunday to attempt the Putt. Weather
came rolling in before the leaders
could even tee off and they would stay
in the club-house Mother Nature washing
out the rest of the day.
The will resume play on Sunday
with a number of golfers having to play
36 holes. J.B. Holmes still your
leader at 1 under par.
