An early morning fire destroyed several experiments and did at least
20-thousand dollars in damages.
The blaze broke out at the Aquaculture Center around four.
The fire actually started in a small outbuilding.
The blaze then spread to the main structure which housed thousands of fish
used in experiments.

A West Virginia man was killed and his passenger seriously injured following
an accident on Interstate 81 this afternoon in Montgomery County. (CORRECTION:
State police 41- year- old David Lee Mason, of McDowell County, West
Virginia, was killed.
Police say the front tire on Mason's truck blew out, the truck then ran over
an embankment and flipped on its top.
His passenger was transported to Radford Community Hospital.

Some local officials want to make sure the future of Smith Mountain Lake is
