Pulaski school officials have suspended a sixth- grader indefinitely for
allegedly bringing a gun and ammunition to school.
Several students reported seeing the weapon at Dublin Middle School on
Tuesday, and a parent told the principal.
The student faces possible expulsion for a year under a new policy that went
into effect at the start of the school year.
Police are also investigating the incident.

on the lip.

The outbreak of rabies in central Virginia has claimed another animal, this
time a pet cat owned by a family in Brookneal.
Health officials say the animal may have exposed as many as seven people to
the rabies virus.

The cat was brought to the Addison Animal Hospital in Lynchburg, where it
died last week.
Its owner, two other family members and four hospital workers will have to
undergo treatment for rabies after handling the animal.

Authorities believe the cat is the first domesticated animal to contract the
disease.
