Pine cones from the Table Mountain Pine tree crack open when heated by fire.
The seeds germinate quickly after falling into a burned area. These spring seedlings are already 4 to 6-inches tall.
That rapid growth makes it hard to see some of the fire lines that were bulldozed to keep the fire from spreading.
The forestry department also did its part to reseed shortly after the fire in order to prevent erosion.

In "Seven", a grossly fat man is found murdered. Somerset catches on early that a serial killer is at work basing his grisly crimes on Milton's list of the seven deadly sins.
The clinical way the movie shows the murder scenes makes them all the more horrible.
'Seven's suspense is relentless. The cinematography is great and Kevin Spacey is the scariest psychopath since Hannibel Lechter.
This harrowing and stunning film gets an "A-". But it's not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.))
