State police say a Bassett man lying on a road was struck and KILLED late
last night in Henry County.
36-year-old Henry Lee Hairston was struck on route 6-73 around 11:30.
He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville where he died a short time
later.

exceptionally powerful.

Pulaski school officials have suspended a SIXTH- grader INDEFINITELY for
allegedly bringing a gun and ammunition to school.
Several students reported SEEING the weapon at Dublin Middle School on
Tuesday, and a PARENT told the principal.
The student faces possible EXPLUSION for a YEAR under a NEW policy that went
into effect at the START of the school year.

Meanwhile in Martinsville Tuesday, a 13-year-old middle school student on a
school bus allegedly threatened a younger classmate with a razor blade.
The suspect allegedly shoved the classmate and demanded money.

on the lip.
But police say the cut was minor and they believe it was an accident.
Police say the teenager has been charged with attempted robbery by force.

violence every year.
