A collision between a train and a pick up truck in Montgomery County has injured two people.

The train consisted of 10 engines and was not carrying any cargo. The conductor told police he blew the whistle, but the driver of the truck did not heed his warning.

Five of the candidates have raised more than 100- thousand dollars, and one of them is closing in on 200- thousand.

(( According to the latest campaign finance reports, State Senator Brandon Bell has built the biggest bankroll... more than 175- thousand dollars so far.
Democratic challenger John Edwards picked up more than 20- thousand dollars during the latest reporting period, but Roanoke's vice mayor still trails the incumbent by almost 100- thousand dollars.
Republican house candidate Trixie Averill and Democratic delegate Dick Cranwell are running the most expensive race in the Valley.
Cranwell has raised more than 68- thousand dollars since the last report, and the two have now collected more than 300- thousand dollars between them.
Roanoke Republican Newell Falkinburg isn't far behind.
He has raised almost 140- thousand in his bid to replace Chip Woodrum in the House of Delegates.
But Woodrum is closing the gap. His contributions now total more than 119- thousand dollars.
The numbers are certain to increase substantially before election day. The latest figures document fundraising through the end of September.

A major supermarket chain is coming to Danville.
Officials with Hannaford Brothers of Maine say the company plans to build a 54- thousand square foot Food and Drug Superstore.
The location has not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson says the six- million- dollar investment will create between 100- and 150- new jobs.
The grocery store is a Fortune 500- company with more than 118- supermarkets along the East Coast.
An official says the company is working to establish itself in Virginia and North Carolina.
Hannaford Brothers plans to open in Danville next fall.

Klockner Pentaplast is building an addition at its Rural Retreat plant.
Construction should begin sometime next year. The company expects to hire up to 100 new workers over the next several years.
Klockner had hoped to start on the addition months ago, but only recently reached an agreement with Wythe County on tool and machinery taxes.
The county lowered the rate so Klockner will not pay a disproportionate share once it brings in 20 million dollars worth of new machinery and equipment.
